i don't think you're supposed to carry it around at all, because who would carry around all of that weight, i mean if it's 8 pounds per gallon, then those things must be monsterously heavy. something tells me that they're just a decorative version of a fish tank

i live in cary (right next to raleigh, and the only fish-oriented store is a place called fish pro's, which has a ton of different kinds of fish that you can't find other places around here, but i hardly ever go there because of the insane prices

well, thy're all actually fantails, so being different types can't exactly be the problem

it's a 20 gallon, and i just measured them, and the two larger ones are about 3 and a half each, and the small one is about 2 and a half inches long, so that adds up to 9 1/2 inches of goldfish in the tank. There's also a pleco, and 2 chinese algae eaters in the tank, but the plecon just sits...

Back in last novemeber i bought 3 one inch fantail goldfish from petsmart, who were all the same size back then. Now two of the have grown to be 4-5 inches, and one of them is about 3 inches long, And i've had to keep him in QT for a while now, because one ofthe goldfish kept on picking at him...

that's a pretty cute little guineapig. my guinepig, chester, is almost six years old, and has been the fater to several litters of little baby guinepigs :mrgreen:

well, i've finished setting up and moving my goldfish to a new 5gal qt tank, so i'm hoping that with the medication i'm using he'll heal

ty urville, i'll try a half-dose of salt, and cross my fingers and hope the snails make it

ty for the info, i was just reluctant to go buy more medications until i was certain it was necessary since it's so dang expensive. the kind of medication i was using is PimaFix, do you know if those meds you listed work better or worse then the PimaFix?

well, today i went aquarium shopping, and bought some freshwater aquarium salt, since one of my goldfish has a fungal infection, and i ran out of the medication.(i've been told the salt will also help out, and he's pretty close to being healed) And i was thinking about using it in my platy tank...

my fantails are incredibly messy, and it's really hard to keep the water clear

nothing happened when i put the vinegar on one of them, it only made some bubbles that were so small that you had to get really close to see. i took some pictures, and i'll post them later

would you be able to use an undergravel filter w/ sand?

i actually went to a creek in my neighborhood that was filled with pondsnail and netted myself some, because my platy tank had a lot of algae. they haven't gotten to be a problem, infact they seem to be dwindling, but if they ever did get to be a problem i've found that my fantail goldfish are...

no, it wasn't live rock, it was washed up on the beach, and completely bare (i don't think there's live rock off of the coast of North Carolina) thankyou
