If you can only get a 30-35 you might be able to have some Yellow Lab cichlids and nothing else in there. Like 3-4 I think, not to sure. And it depends if you can go on craigslist and find one for like $40-60 then get it or else I think at petstores they are over $100 maybe.
No need to get hurt feelings also man. Everyone here is trying to help you. The only bad thing that may have gotten to you was the whole keep you in my fridge thing but really he was just trying to show you an example of what its like to keep fish in a aqaurium they cant fit in.
Keep the...
You dont have to take all your fish back. Your tropical fish will be fine in a 10g. Just try and get a bigger tank as soon as possible for your cichlids. The only fish I would take back is the common pleco and once your tank is cycled get some otos or a bristlenose pleco. Also try and get a...
You may think that comment is over blown but think about it when they get full sized on how aggressive they can be. If there small right now then theyll just play around and etc.......
Last water change was last friday. Havent done a filter cleaning in about a month. And yeah thats what I was kinda thinking was that it threw off the balance a little but wanted to know if it was something serious or if itll clear up over night or something.
Could it of if I forgot to dump some of the water out from the pet store? And just checked and the parameters are 0 ammonia, o nitrite and 10 nitrate,ph 7.4.
I would assume the firemouth is trying to be the alpha in the tank or is just fighting for territories. I know that Jewels can be pretty mean though when they get bigger. How big is the tank ?
Alright I added another black skirt tetra to my 20g long tank to make the school to 4 earlier today. After going to work and doing some running around I come home and the tank is all cloudy looking after being setup for 7-8 months. Should I be alarmed and do water changes? Or will it go away? Is...
Can anyone help me out here? Ive tried doing some research but there really isnt anything under that name. Ive tried looking on google images to see if one matches and everytime you type in marble horn pleco it goes to marble sailfin plecos etc.......any help will be appreciated!
A marble horned pleco? I was at my local fish store today just looking for stock ideas for my 40g breeder and saw it and decided to look it up to see if it could fit in the tank but cant find anything about it.
Dont mean to thread jack but I was wondering how many of these fish I can put in a 40g breeder? Ive heard people say they have some in a 40g breeder and then others saying a 40g breeder is to small.
I gave all my fish I had in my 40g breeder over craigslist to local people in my area and I am wanting to restock it with cichlids. Was wondering if I could put some Yellow labs and other cichlids like that in there and how many? The tank has been running for 9 months, 0 ammonia, 0 nitrate and 2...
A freind of mine has a 40gallon long tank. In it he has a jack Dempsey all by itself and after seeing my German Blue Rams he is wanting to add 1 or 2 to his tank. Would that be smart? I told him it probably wouldnt be a smart choice because of aggression issues and such. :thanks:
So for my 40g breeder ive basically added fish for the middle and bottom level of the tank. Was wondering what fish /fishes I can add that would go with the fish I currently have for the top of my tank???? Current fish are 2 angelfish, 5 kuhli loaches, 2 german blue rams and 1 bristlenose pleco...
Was just going off what my 2 do. They enter the caves I got in my tank for the other fish etc occassionally. But like you said they prefer the driftwood more.
I would give them alot of places to hide wether thats caves, plants etc......
As for other fish you could add....... you could probably do some cory catfish on the bottom and some cardinal tetras for the top.
Just my 2 cents
He should color back up. The discoloring or whatever you want to call it is probably just from the stress of rehoming etc...... Otherwise it is a beautiful fish.
It helped alot. Thanks everyone for the info. Sorry would of responded sooner but have been busy with Work etc...... Went to my local fish store and they have 5 people ahead of me waiting for red cherry shrimp. So on the waiting list I go.
