    Proposed frag donations for Jeff85w

Hello everyone, Firstly I'd like to thank "fireman26m" for the very kind gesture. Additionally I would like to thank those who have been so gracious to offer some frags, zoos etc.... Thanks to all of you. At this point I am not sure if I will replace the tank. I've been in this hobby for 6...

    PLEASE READ!!! HEATER DEFECT--FIRE--TOTAL LOSS!!!

Circuit breakers protect the circuit from shorts and current overload, not from overheating of a unit on the circuit. . The control unit basically acted like a electric stove if you catch my drift. Eventually the circuit breaker tripped but only because 175g of water came pouring down on all...

    PLEASE READ!!! HEATER DEFECT--FIRE--TOTAL LOSS!!!

Hey folks, thanks for all your support. Yes the heater was definitely the culprit. The Osyssea 500w aquarium heater. It is a digital thermostat unit which is comprised of 4 components. The piece that failed was the temperature control connector. FYI--this unit did not short out--It simply...

    PLEASE READ!!! HEATER DEFECT--FIRE--TOTAL LOSS!!!

Please reconsider if you have an Odyssea 500w heater for your tank. My tempature control connecter started a fire under my 175g Oceanic tank that I got up and running about 6 weeks ago. The tank was doing great and happy fishes & corals. The fire burned the supporting cabinet and flames...

    On the right track?

    4x65w worked great for my 75g for 3 years. If I had my dithers I would have used a 4x96 but that's on a 75g. I think 4x65 would be a perfect fit for a 55.

Asked the same question recently, 250 should be fine. 400 may be too much. Also be prepared to think about the water temp issue that may arise

    Spot on tang

Hey 2 Cents Could just dose the water with a little bit of Sea-Breeze facial cleanser. Smells good, clears up acne, and your hippo can get drunk all at the same time!! Last I looked you could pick the stuff up in any grocery, pharmacy, or drug store. :D

My new toy magnet (I named him Jaws !!!)

Just got my super-duper dyno-whoppin' aquarium magnet today. "Maganavore" somthing??? Anyway--after carefully reading the warning label I was monkeying with it in my lap. There is something to be said for the warning labels. As it clapped together today it decided to snatch onto my sweather...

I am wondering myself how big these little dudes have to be before they have the potential to start craking shells and such. Anyone have any idea?

    Please Check my Cycling numbers

SG was rising as I was adding additional salt over a few days. I didn't want to overshoot the SG. There is an additional 150# of LR pristine and fully cured going into the tank from my old tank. For a total of about 275# I'll get the water change done this week and look forward to a fun...

Let the snapping begin!! Mantis has entered the room-Maybe?

Well guys and gals--as I get ready to transfer my 75g over to my new 175g bow. My 75g has got a couple new visitors I believe. Sounds like a glass thermometer or hydrometer hitting the side of the tank. Sometimes one, two or three consecutive snaps. Problem is I have no glass in the tank. I...
