    Help with a murderer fish

I'll let her know. She said she does Have bubble nests so I think they have paired off and he's protecting a nest. She said she's never seen any babies but I that makes sense to me since the gold never comes out. Sent from my SCH-I545 using Aquarium Advice mobile app

    Help with a murderer fish

My sister has a blue gourami that murders her fish. She's tried moving everything around to confuse him but he still munches on her other fish. I just was wondering if anyone has any ideas of different things she could try. Right now she has some zebra danios that he can't catch and another gold...

    Needs ideas for an auction

We haven't appointed any members to anything yet but we're only having our first meeting on the 21st. We decided to be a majority online fish club. Our old club met every month and it never had the turn out to justify meeting that often. The last auction I attended we had eight people there...

    Needs ideas for an auction

We couldn't decide on an amount to ask for. Our old club did it 70/30. They gave you the 70 and took the 30. Which wasn't bad but what we didn't like is you never knew what the money went to. They only ever had one speaker and the money was kept at the vice president's house. We have an account...

    Needs ideas for an auction

I'm a co-founder of a fish group. We just launched in January so we're trying to figure all this stuff out still. We need help figuring out the best way to do an auction. Our old group did auctions but we don't like how they did them. We've been thinking a silent auction or even set everything...

Big Chain Pet Store Employee, Venting

As a fellow pet store worker, I completely agree. I get tired of explaining to people everyday why fish can't go in one gallon bowls and why we can have 1000 goldfish in our huge fish wall but they can't have 20 in a 10 gallon. I hate hearing people mispronounce fish names on purpose because...

    First time salt water

I've been doing some thinking and I'd really like to get into salt water. I've got a 46 gallon bow front just sitting in a room in my house. I've been doing freshwater now for about 3 years and I don't want just another fresh water tank. What I want to know is, what would be the best websites to...

    Whirling disease

I haven't seen it myself other than a video. I'm trying to get my sister to sign up here and post the symptoms. I did notice one thing though. I work in a fish store. I noticed yesterday a fish doing this as well. My sister's is a black molly, this was an African Featherfin catfish. I put it in...

    Whirling disease

I can't find anything about a cure for this disease but I wanted to know if it will eventually kill the fish or if he will stop swimming in circles. If it kills the fish, how long does it take? My sister just got her first tank and one of her fish started doing this a few days ago. She feels bad...

    What it this guy?

That's a crayfish. They will eat any fish they can catch and they'll eat anything you put in the tank. I had one in a 10 gallon that got a little under seven inches long. He's now in a 29 gallon with a fellow crayfish friend. I feed mine algae tabs, frozen sweet peas, rosy red minnows, fish...

    Betta in Community

I say take this advice. I've kept mine with neons and corys with no problems. Just have somewhere to put the betta in case it doesn't work.

    new here-need crayfish food suggestions

I give my minnows, algae tabs, peas, a little fish flakes (so the minnows can get a little to eat) and shrimp pellets. I guess I'm doing something right, one of mine turns a year old in a couple months.

    Light bulb question

I ended up just buying a new strip light. The wattage on the old light was 15. I changed the fuse but it still just flickered.

    Light bulb question

I'll have to look at the watts, I just tried a standard aquarium bulb. Its a 24" bulb. I don't know how old it is. I got it at an auction. It looks pretty old and the part inside where the bulb is, is drying out and chipping apart. I may try to change the fuse tomorrow before I buy a new strip.
