I had a bad dose of ick a while ago. The only thing that got rid of it for me was a 2 week course of methylene blue. It works but It turns the water in your tank dark blue. it's hard to see the fish.

Amano are scavengers so your first will be safe and the Amano shrimp can grow to 2 inches so they won't be eaten by your fish. Amano also do little or no damage to plants so they will be safe. A couple of neons and shrimp won't make a huge difference. Personally I would add a couple of each.

I was thinking of shrimp too. I decided against ghosts though. Amano shrimp grow slightly larger and a more decorated so better to look at. They seem to be better for keeping the tank clean too. The problem is they can be harder to get.

It my male Siamese fighting fish today. Waiting for him for about a month. Even after only 2 hours, he follows the female non stop.

He does spend a lot of time playin with the rainbow shark and kuhli loach. The thing that's putting me off is it only does it when he feeds. The rest of the time he just acts his normal crazy self. So you think a does of Malachite green would be a good idea.
