After the suggestions I went and did some research on the SS stars and seaham I think that I might have to agree with you. I think that my tank is just too small to have even one SS star. So are there any other critters that I could get besides the SS stars?

My substrate is sand based I was wondering what is the best way to clean the debris off the top. I thought that you could use one of the tub cleaners, but would the sand be sucked up with the debris? Thanks for all the help

What I have growing in my tank is what I can best describe as white cone shaped pods with little hairs growning out from the tip. Eventually they fall off the LR and float around the sand at the bottom. Anyone with any idea.

Thanks everyone for the responses. The hair algea seems to just be located on the one rock and it doesn't seem to be moving. After I have cycled I will get a clean up crew to start clearing it up.

Another thing that I just want to mention is that the hair algea is currently only located on one rock. Couldn't I just take it out. The rock is only about 2lbs at most.
