It only detoxifys, it doesn't remove ammonia. Only way it may become an issue is if it was way over dosed and even then I'm not sure what would happen. Once added it claims it will only work for 48 hours.
Don't mess with your tap ph it will only make things worse down the road. "Once or twice a month water changes" is not going to be enough at less it is a heavily planted tank. You need to slowly get your nitrate down by doing small water changes to not shock the fish every other day till you get...
During spawning times the female will get very aggressive towards the male. I found in a small footprint tank you must have a lot of decor and plants to break the line of sight. My male had to stay at the other end of a 20 long or she would come at him at full force.
Play sand, blasting sand, gravel from lawn and garden store, kitty litter ( must be a certain type) for substrates
Lights can be as cheap as a daylight house bulb.
Fake plants you can use whats at a local craft store.
Rocks and logs you can get outside or a local stream
Those are the same ones. I've had them breed twice and first time was a fail the second time someone ate them. Hopefully freak boy can get them to breed too.

I have put them inside before under medium light and it grows like a dwarf. Personally I wouldn't waste my money

They don't really swim much so I don't see why most people say they need a 48" tank. A 20 gallon or 20 long would be fine. Don't let a bunch of people know you have them or they will blow you up trying to get some lol

Got a really good deal on swordtail so I went ahead and got them. Payed $7 for 14 and the woman sent 20. Tank looks much better with some color. Now just to wait for them all to grow out. The blue labs are pigs and wait and stare at me for food.

When you make rodi water your ph does not automatically drop. It keeps it's ph level from my understanding. With all the stuff the filter removes you can easily change the ph by adding back what is needed. So if you have a substrate that is suppose to lower ph it will much easier now or by...
Couple other things that can be pointed out with the Api kits. If you took a look at your test vials where they are all lined up. Look at the 5 ml markings on each one, notice anything wrong?
Also how could you be sure that each drop of solution = a certain amount? That's why other brands...
I can agree with all said... here's a very short story of my africans. If I had to do it all over again the best bet would to only keep one or two africans and a lot of those. I'd probably aim for just one type. Over time in my tank and yes it did work but I often now ask myself were they...
Depending on water quality then yes crs could be added.
Anything inside a tank should be cleaned every so often just not all st once. Any in or out take tube should be scrubbed in the inside. Also if your running foam air filters you should take them apart and clean the holes of airline and...
Looks much better now. Whenever I trim I dip in and out of the water several times so the shrimp fall, jump, swim off.

Another and probably the best option is using salty shrimp, it's what most shrimp keepers use. For the cardinal shrimp you'll want the salty shrimp 8.5.
With my Cardinals I mix rodi water with my well water to get the right ph and tds.
