    Sailfin Molly fry

Okay, the fry are doing well (I think) I was wondering when they would be sexually mature? Do you go by age or size? How soon will I be able to tell sex to seperate them?

    Sailfin Molly fry

Hi all. I discovered some sailfin molly fry in my tank today and was wondering if they are safe to stay there. From what I have read, they usually do not bother their young, however they are not the only fish in the tank. Would the danios, tetras, minnows or plecos bother the fry at all? The...

    Sick Gourami's

Well, this is where I'm at. I was unable to aquire kanamycin (All the LFS I visited with had never heard of it or said the company that makes it had gone out of buisness). I did a second treatment with the Maracyn two. I have lost the one Gold Gourami, but the two Cosby gourami's are still with...

    Moving with tanks

Hi all. I will be moving soon (March) and want some advice on moving the tanks. I haven't moved them before so all experinces welcome. I have 50g, 21g, 20g, 2x5.5g. I have heard to try and save all the water and bring it with to re-set up. Is that the best way? The drive is about 20-30mins to...

    Sick Gourami's

Well, I'm not sure if they are getting better. The one Cosby looks slightly better, less pink, but the other is looking worse. Lots of pink in the fins and one of the pink patches is now quite dark and sore looking. The Golden looks the same. Today will be the last day for the Maracyn-Two...

    Sick Gourami's

I heard you could not preheat the water, ie. use warm tap water. That you had to use cold and either let it warm up or use a heater on it. I have 1 extra heater, but not 6 (2g buckets). It doesn't make it go much faster. Thank you for the link. I very much looks like them, but no red streaks...

    Sick Gourami's

Hi all. I have some sick Gourami's and am hoping you can help identify the problem and let me know if I'm on the right track. There are 2 Cosby & 1 golden showing the signs. The other 2 goldens and 2 pearls seem to be showing no signs that I can see. There are pinkish spots on my fish that are...

I am not planing on putting either of those in the tank. Just what's there now. The tank has several live plants though, so they sould take care of it. I actually did notget around to raising the temp. They spots have considerably lessoned and the loaches are doing very well. Hopefully by months...

Okay. Now that I've read it, I have a question. I like the temp raising method, however am not sure if all my fish can take 86oF . I have of course looked on the web, but sites all say different things. I have Gouramis, Loaches, Danios & a Pleco. Are any of them not able to take the temp?

I'm in Mississauga, but really what I want is just prices from the area for now. Anywhere in Ontario is fine. I just want to compare.

I am sure you get a million posts on this, but I was wondering about treatment/seeing results. How can you tell the treatment is working? I am on day 7 of using Coppersafe. I have read it can take 14-30 days to be cured. But I can not see any difference in the fish, maybe even more spots. One...

    What's a good price...

For a Zebra Pleco? There is one at my LPS and he's $200. Now from what I've seen on American sites, they are 20-50$. But I can not find any Canadian sites for comparison. Any one seen any around here in Canada, preferably Ontario?

What would you put in a 16 gallon tank?

What about a Betta with a couple of Gold Gouramis? I've seen conflicting info. Some places say they may aggravate the make Betta as they are both air breathers, but others say they are fine. perhaps it would just depend on the individual fishes personality? Would Bettas also get along with...

What would you put in a 16 gallon tank?

Hi all. I aquired a 16g tank and am looking for suggestions on what to put in it. I would like something really colourful. I've been looking at a male betta, but I want more then one fish. What'd think?

    Advice needed

Thank you all for your replies!! My amonia test does show zero (reads clear). Don't worry, I know that, and do not expect them to live their enitre life in this tank. I was told they would be okay in there for atleast a year, maybe 2. I plan on moving them to a much larger tank once they grow...
