I just got a Angular Butterfly in and have it in QT. It's not eating and it has these white clumps on it's tail. Looks kinda like clumps of powder sugar. Any idea what this is? How should I treat it? I think it's twitching a little.

Is it wise to use RO/DI tanks? I ask because there would not be much water circulations in the tank if it was only used twice a month for aquarium water changes. Would this not lead to raised levels of Nitrite or ammonia?

I have a Milwaukee PH/Alk tester that I used to measure my Alkalinity…..it read 9.6c but I don’t know what that means. How do I convert that into (1 meq/l = 2.8 dKH = 50 ppm CaCO3)? I read that recommended Alk is 3-4.5meq. Also, can that Cal Solution go bad? I've had it sitting for a while.
