    i used tap water to start and ro/di water to fill. the ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, and phosphate level for both sources are zero. the phosphate level started to shoot up after i put in the uncured live rocks.

    i cured my live rocks in the display tank in a new set up along with the refugium. it's been two weeks and i believe the rocks are cured. the nitrate level is not bad but the phosphate level shoots up quite a bit. my question is how effective are the macroalgaes in absorbing phosphate?

    i would not do a water change during cycling. i would do it after. you slow down the process when you perform water changes.

    it's perfectly normal. the fish just gets older that's all. darwin (black & white ocellaris) clown's orange fades and black increases as it ages.

    once upon a time, i forgot to put filter material in the tray above my bio-ball chambers. and i wondered why my water was cloudy after three months. :lol:

    That's from what I understand. Everything else can be achieved with regular water change.
