My nidibranchs did not do much for hair algea.I say to go with Turbo snails and a yellow tang but usually hair algea is a temporary problem and when you tank's chemistry is balanced the hair agea will disappear with time.

Yes I do live very near Scripps. I have been using the Scripps water for many years with excellent results but to keep algae under control I must change water very regularly.
