    Best glass cleaner

Best to use a razor blade with care for the algae that’s harder to scrape off with a sponge or magnet cleaner, but apply care near the edges where the silicone is!

My 30L Nano Planted Crystal Shrimp tank

Currently holds 14 x CRS Crystal shrimp with a mixture of S, SS & SSS grade using RODI water. Carpet plant Monte Carlo and stem plants growing nicely with no pressurised CO2 injection necessary. Let me know what you think.

Can anyone ID what this is??

Thanks for your reply, I’m pretty sure you’re correct. I’ve already plucked out 2 of them and will closely check the tank if anymore exist.

Can anyone ID what this is??

Found this strange looking creature inside my freshwater planted nano shrimp tank so I removed it. It’s about an inch long and crawls on driftwood. I’ve now found another one of these! Can anyone identify what these things are? Are they harmless or dangerous?

ID needed for SPS frags - part 2

Do you know names for the encrusting montis? Would the digi be a neon green digi?

    ID needed for SPS frags

Pic 3 is also some type of SPS as it’s encrusting and no long stemmed polyps involved. The texture has tiny bristles and looks fury. Do you know names for the montis?

    New shrimp dying?

I’m also soon going to be setting up a new 8g shrimp tank and planning on getting crystal shrimp. I’m also gathering up advice from others and it sounds like the main issue would have been the kH being way too high. This guide says cherry shrimp need a kH to be 0-6 and yours was more than twice...

    Algae help

I know it’s hard to tell sometimes by looking at photos, but I can’t see any algae in there whatsoever! I would reduce lighting by an hour or two if it gets out of control though. Your Seachem liquid dosing should keep the plants happy and those plants don’t need intense light. Tank looks great...

    Algae help

Welcome to the hobby and happy to help you out with advice. All you need is a couple of small plecos no larger than a couple of inches no matter how well stocked your tank is. They don’t swim around like normal fish do so don’t need too much room to move in. Then when they grow into adults you...

    Algae help

I can’t see much if any algae on that anubias, it looks to be in great condition. Eventually green algae will form on the leaves. My advice is to put some bristlenose plecos in there which thrive on algae and will do a great job in keeping your tank clean including anubias plants.

    Can anyone ID these worms?

Friend of mine had noticed these white worms around 10mm long appearing on the glass of her tank after completing a water change. Livestock in the tank are peppermint bristlenose plecos and ghost shrimp. Does anyone know what type of worms these are and how these have appeared?

    Breeding bristlenoses

Hi all, I’m looking at breeding albino bristlenoses and would be grateful for any useful advice people can offer such as should I have 2 tanks setup i.e. one for the adults/parents and one to raise the fry in, or can the fry stay in same tank as the adults? Is a sponge filter ideal and adequate...

    AI Hydra HD 26

Hi, I haven’t got mine yet, but I’ve ordered 3 x 26 HD for my 125g reef tank that I’m setting up and was curious with how your experience was with these lights? Are you happy with them? I’m also in two minds as to getting 3 x 26 or 2 x 26 and a central 52. I intend on keeping mixture of lps and...

    AI Hydra Led lighting

So you think 3 x 26 HDs will be more than enough coverage for a 6’ wide x 2’ high tank? Not planning on having any sps laying on the sand.

    AI Hydra Led lighting

Thanks for the advice and sorry to hear about the loss of fish due to that foxface. Sounds like one aggressive type of fish! I’ve decided to go with the AI, but my only dilemma is whether to settle with the 3 x 26 or have 2 x 26 and a central 52. Like I mentioned before, I don’t want to spend an...

Thanks, so you have some sps as well? Do you have a FTS so that I can see how they look on yours? Are you happy with the hydras? I have not heard a bad thing about them.

    AI Hydra Led lighting

Hi all, I am setting up a 500 L (125 gallon) reef tank with tank dimensions 6’ wide x 18” deep x 2’ high with the intention of keeping both LPS and SPS corals, although I don’t know the mixture at this stage or where SPS will be placed. I love acros, so will probably have some places at the...
