Alternative to damsels Since it would be difficult to get these damsels out of a big tank with lots of rock, what alternative do I have, then? I've never heard of shrimp cycling a tank. Maybe there's a better method of catching these damsels? Thanks for responding, by the way...

From your experience, how hardy is a blue tang? I've read a lot about them, but I want to get your experience. Is it easy to feed? Will they get picked on? How prone are they to disease? Last, will a blue tang happily survive in a 75G tank, with a Comet, Flame Angel, and 7 other assorted 3" fish?

....will it bother small fish like a clown goby (1.5") or juvenile clowns? Will they get eaten? How about shrimp and snails?

yep, definitely too small for a shark and/or ray. you are free to do what you want, but you run a BIG RISK going down this path. if you have tons of money and a tank at least 10x the size of what you are planning, then you have a shot....

add 3 nassarius snails - they're extremely useful!

yep, i suggest you wait a week so you can return the damsel. there's a chance he'll co-exist with the percs, but he may still get crazy over time. clowns can be pretty feisty too, considering they come from the same family as the damsels.....but i still suggest that you take out the damsel to...

i had 3 blue damsels to start cycling my tank. i took them out and put 2 percs, a royal gramma, and a banggai cardinal.....damsels may look nice, but they're really aggressive. i don't think it's worth the risk. just give it back to the lfs....
