    Weird broad lea water sprite

I have some of that in my tank too. Be careful, it grows like crazy every month or so I pull a ton of that out of my tank. It will completely cover the top of your tank.

    Best ferts?

I rounded off but to put it in perspective: 6 250ml bottles of Flourish comp ~ $30.00 for 1500 ml The PPS pro pack would make 7500 ml for $30.00 Nothing wrong with buying the Seachem products, I did when I started. If you find yourself really getting into it, you'll probably end up buying dry...

    New Tank

You should probably do 3 50% water changes per week till your tank is fully cycled. You need to have zero ammonia and zero nitrite. If you can get some filter media from an established tank and throw it in yours (filter) that will really speed the process up.

    Worth buying 2x Fluval 304's for a 75G?

I have a 306 on a 50. I'm not sure what the difference is between the 304 and 306 but I think they are basically the same. I would guess that 2 on a 75 would be plenty. As for repairs they are pretty simple and you can get parts on the web everywhere. The only thing I have ever heard or seen is...

    Another rimless build thread

Thanks Brian (OS) and Thanks Brian. An ADA tank would have been nice don't get me wrong. I would love to have one. This was more of a challange for me then anything else. Still a long ways to go but we'll get there. So far so good. When I find my camera which is slightly better then my phone...

    Another rimless build thread

Update Time: Well I couldn't get the substrate that I wanted so I just went with regular ECO. The Current Sat + led is very cool and the kids love the lightning mode. Everything is up and running, Just letting it cycle so I threw a couple plant trimmings in there. I still need to get some hard...

    Brian's(Old Scales)Rescape Journal "Yikes!"

Hey tank looks great. I've been messing with my fert's quite a bit lately. Would you be willing to try what I did and see if it works for you as well? I had my nitrates up to about 40 I raised my po4 to 5 (by dosing) and my GDA went away. So did the GSA. but then I ran my Nitrate down to 10 ppm...

Can I use EI successfully with Excel as carbon source?

That calculator can be a little screwy when you ask it to do that. You would need to think in terms of increasing your dose if you want to use a solution. Or here is a conversion that is a little easier to remember and do with different sized tanks should you have more then one. 500 ml bottle...

    Planted vs Salted

To answer your question in short Yes lol but really it doesn't have to be. I wonder if you could use just the white lights in your current fixture? You said its dimmable and at 120 watts it should have enough power. If you could start out with that one you could decide later if you want to drop...

Can I use EI successfully with Excel as carbon source?

I would say yes you can. You could also start at at 1/2 the dose of normal ei if you wanted to or you could start full and adjust down. I'm sure you've seen this but if you haven't there's a lot of info on the subject of EI. Estimative Index I think from what I've been reading, you want your...
