What kind of eggs are these?

i don't have a problem yet, but every couple weeks i find a new pond snail. so for preventative measures, maybe i'll get on of the assassin snails. after looking i think i have 3 pond and 1 mystery.

What kind of eggs are these?

hmm....good to know. would one assassin snail be enough to fight off the over pop. of pond snails? or should i get two? i don't want more snails than fish! ;) also, i did get those eggs out with pulling out the driftwood and wiping them off with the end of a net, then discarding. i'm sure...

What kind of eggs are these?

Really? I need a razor blade? They won't come off with just taking a net to them? Are they super tough, or something? Why would i need to take the driftwood out overnight? Sorry, just don't know about these guys.

What kind of eggs are these?

What kind of eggs are these?

Yeah, i was thinking they are snail eggs. I have a blue mystery snail and i think a pond snail that came in on a plant.

What kind of eggs are these?

They are very small round, clear eggs. I think they are attached to the driftwood somehow. Hopefully, you can see them in the pics. I tried to put them in the center of each pic.

    Think she will drop soon?

I noticed this guppy frantically gasping at air for a long time at the top of my tank. Is that a sign of getting ready to give birth? I've never seen them act that way & I've never gotten to witness a guppy birth before. So just wondering if you've seen this behavior before birth? She looks...

    Changing out the substate

Wow! Thanks for the great reply! I think i'm going to do this method, it seems clean & efficient. I"m really excited b/c the black gravel (kind of inherited it) makes everything look so dark and the river pebbles i got are really going to brighten it up in there! Maybe i'll try to post a before...

    Changing out the substate

I've decided to change out my substrate from black gravel to river rocks. I'm trying to figure out the best plan to do this. I'm thinking i should remove all the fish and decor and then scoop up the gravel and then lay down the rocks. Anyone ever done this? Ideas, thoughts? :fish2::thanks:

    Downsizing tanks

That's not a bad idea! I'll have to think on that one...

    Downsizing tanks

That's what i'm thinking. I don't want to get rid of any of my fish, but it's getting to be to much of a time commitment. I guess i'll call and see if my lfs will take them. Then just store the tank until it sells on Craigslist.

    Downsizing tanks

I currently have 3 tanks going, 2-20g & 10g (fry only). I want to eliminate 1 20g. I've listed it on Craigslist, but any other ideas if i have no takers? That tank also has fish, about 15 of them, that i want to get rid of too. Anyone have any experience on how to phase out a tank?

    FRY

    Gotcha! Thanks.

    FRY

Just watch for fry? Or does the vent do something else beforehand?
  18. RaygunK

    FRY

    What is a "vent" ? :)
  19. RaygunK

    FRY

Here's the one I'm contemplating Of course she won't hold still. ;)

    FRY

So you think when she is really square it's safe to put her in a breeder box? I know there are a lot of mixed opinions, but i really want to see the birth! that's my main goal. :)
  21. RaygunK

    FRY

How did you judge when to put her in there? I'm still trying to figure this out, b/c apparently i have no idea b/c i keep finding random fry in my tank. :)

    breeding tank help

I bought the same breeder box and i cut a pair of knee highs (panty hose) and took the "band" and streched it around the bottom so the fry can't get out. I've yet to have anyone give birth in my breeder box though, but it's ready if that ever happens! ;)
  23. RaygunK

    FRY

How long was your preggo guppy the breeder before she gave birth? How did you decide to put her in there? I honestly would like to use the box for my preggo guppies, but i can never decided when to put her in there & i don't want her to be in there for days. On that note, i did my weekly PWC...

what kind of snail is this?

If there's only one will it breed? As long as he doesn't multiply i don't mind him, but if there's going to be a ton more, i'm going to get rid of him. :) He had to come from a plant, b/c i just put a bunch of new plants in.
