    Weird cichlid aggression, watch video

It's a 90g, got him yesterday. Haha I'm trying to figure out what he is, some said it is a red shoulder some said it's a peacock but at the lfs the owner called it by its scientific name so I'm not sure haha.

    ID this African?

I thought it was a peacock but the way the head looks throws it off, I might just go back and ask the owner because he usually doesn't keep peacocks with the rest of the Malawis

advice for a newbie with africans?

Frontosa are very slow growers so you will have to be patient with them, from my experience with them they don't like a lot of flow and are pretty shy at a young age. Fronts are beautiful cichlids though one of my favorites to keep, also there are a lot of different types of frontosa's so you...

Anyways, I came home and acclimated and added him into the tank. I had currently a 6-7 inch Venustus, 4 inch blue zebra...

    stocking help

hi, i have a 90 gallon fish tank and i am looking to stock some aggressive fish in it. I don't want to add African cichlids or south American cichlids in it though. Do you have any idea what i can stock in the tank? I am using a ehiem 2017 canister filter, and i think a marineland 500 powerhead.

    New to Saltwater

you should probably get some snails and hermit crabs first than wait at least a week before you add your first fish(try to get a hardy fish like a false percula or royal gramma), you can also go to your lfs and ask them to test your water for chemicals. hope this helped

    First Fish - Betta

first of all congrats on your first fish :D bettas look really cool and are rather easy to keep, so they are good for a beginner. Your betta is probably really appreciating that you put it into a 5g tank instead of those little bowls they keep them in at the pet store. He is probably staying at...

hi everyone, i have a 10 gallon saltwater tank that i started about 1 month ago, i added my first fish today(a false percula) and it looked like it was struggling to swim, and its was kind of tipping over. Is it from the flow of the powerhead? even though they were on opposite sides of the tank...
