Oh dear, I didn't know they could grow that big! Mines brown and spotty so I'm guessing it's a common one. The shop actually suggested 2 for my tank to keep it clean....

Well.. I'm not 100% sure yet...! I've got 2 mollies and 2 plecos and a random fish at the moment... My guppies died (I've explained all in another post if you did need the full(ish) story) and the random came in the bag with the plecos. I think I've just got normal plecos but I didn't realise...

And yes, I think the Mollie did. Or could it have been that the water was at 8.2ish? Is that pH too high for guppies?

Stupid pet shops... Yeah I'll try to get it :)

Also, if Mollies and guppies don't get along then why did the petstore sell them to us...?

Hi all :) I've just finished cycling my tank, but noticed the ph was a bit high (just above 8.2) so I was just wondering what I can do to lower(?) the ph to about 7..? I'm not sure if that's a good number to aim for. I know certain fish thrive in slightly acidic and others more alkaline, but if...

It's 36 inches lengthways, 12 inches width ways and i think it was about 17inches for it's height/depth so it's about 120 litres/or 26G :)

I actually meant guppies and mollies. I'm not sure what compatability goes with the tetras. Sorry, I probably should've read what I wrote through first before posting :p

Thankyou :) Where did they come from? Off of the plants? I've never had fish in the tank as I'm still cycling it. How strange. Will they die off before I get te fish in? Shall I remove them when I put my fish in? Thanks in advance :)

Hey guys, I went to my local aquarium store (im new to this by the way) and asked for water testers as I am doing a fishless cycle to start off with. So that was all good. Anyway, come today I bought another bag of gravel because there wasn't enough, and some plants so I can start my fishless...

Unfortunately, I haven't been to school in four years, and I don't think my college has any with their photographic chemicals... But thanks for the advice :) I washed off my gravel today and put it in the tank, so I am now just waiting on that ammonia so i can start my fishless cycle :):fish1: x

I've found some on amazon, just going to contact the seller to find out how much ammonia is in it, to make sure it's not mixed with other chemicals. Thankyou for all your help everyone :) x

Got my filter, heater, and gravel. :) Bought 10kg cause the lady in the shop said it would be enough, but looking at the bag at home I think I may need 20kg...
