    Anyone diagnose this lump please?

Yeah, sorry about the video. Hard to get him to stay still! If anything, the lump looks much smaller tonight so I reckon it might be healing or calming down. It's certainly not affecting his buoyancy so I don't think it's anything to worry about. Thanks very much again for your help!

    Anyone diagnose this lump please?

Hello again! :-) Yes, he's fairly new - got him in June. He's the most liveliest fish I've ever owned. A real bundle of energy. This is the first thing that I've ever had to worry about with him. Water parameters are all fine. Don't have time to run a quick test - off to work shortly - but...

    Anyone diagnose this lump please?

Spotted a small under the skin lump with a white tip on my Red Cap' head yesterday (see pic - sorry it's not great). Have never seen this before? He doesn't appear to be in any distress and is as lively as ever, but I'd like to treat it if possible. He's in a 19 gal tank on his own. Weekly...

    What do I do now?

Thank you. It's horrible having an empty tank in the house!

    What do I do now?

Thank you for the reply. Are there any other freshwater recommendations that you might have? I'm not sure I want to go tropical. Thanks!

    What do I do now?

Hi guys, Very sad to report that my beautiful Black Moor Regine passed away on Sunday evening. Having been battling various illnesses during her three and a bit years of life, and despite my best attempts to cure her each time (there was one point when I thought she was indestructable), she'd...

    Black Moor emergency!

Regine update: She's on the mend! Daily 25% water changes, plenty of aquarium salt and good food. We're still a little blue but it's clearing ;-)

Phew! Thank you so much for the advice and reassurance!

    Black Moor emergency!

Great, thanks. So even an overdose won't be harmful to her barring the 'drugged' reaction she's had over the past few days which is starting to wear off? Regine lives on her own in the tank so I suppose it's been a quarantine in a way... just on a larger scale! :-)

    Black Moor emergency!

Thanks! Sounds like it was my fault for overdosing her with it in that case. Lesson well and truly learnt. If she makes a full recovery which I'm feeling more positive that she will now, will there be any lasting harm caused from the MB?

    Black Moor emergency!

Oh, forgot to mention - I followed the recommended Interpet MB dosage of just over 10ml for the size of her tank and diluted it in warm water first.

    Black Moor emergency!

Thanks for the reply, guys. OK by literally dropping some soaked pellets on the end of her nose I got her to eat yesterday and this morning I mushed up a pea and dropped it close by and she went for it. The fact she's eating is a huge relief! I also did another 25% water change this morning...

    Black Moor emergency!

Hi everyone My Black Moor Regine isn't doing too well. For the past couple of weeks I've noticed her getting more and more lethargic and bottom sitting for at least half the day. Having not seen her poop for a while I presumed she was simply constipated and added more high fibre foods to her...

    Black Moor behavour worries

Filter seems to be working much better now after a few good cleans and maintenance. Regine very happy! :-)

    Black Moor behavour worries

Thanks jik! She's definitely a special one. Haven't seen fins like Regine's on any Moor before. I think I may have jinxed myself with yesterday's post as we had an unusually warm day (for Manchester, England) yesterday and I think it's contributed to Regine's water going cloudy white. I did a...

    Black Moor behavour worries

Hi guys Thank you for the replies. It seems that since the air pump hose has been in the tank, Regine has been much livelier. In fact, I've not seen her sat down for four days none stop now which I'm really happy about! Hoping the torn fins will clear up in the next few weeks so she'll be...

    Black Moor behavour worries

Thanks for that! I will try all those things. I've just added the end of the air hose to the tank and it's making a great amount of bubbles in the corner. I've not actually ran it from the gravel, just dipped it about four inches in as pictured. As you can see Regine is up and about wondering...

    Black Moor behavour worries

Hi guys, Can anyone take a look at this video for me and let me know what you think? My Black Moor has been off and on acting weird for the past two days. Anyone seen similar to what happens at 20 secs in - coming to the top, aiming a gill out of the water, then floating listlessly? Regine...

    Black Moor behavour worries

    Black Moor behavour worries

I picked up and installed a 4" air stone yesterday but I really don't think Regine likes it. I've seen her get swept up and violently tossed upside down by it three times already which appears to have shaken her up as she is now bottom sitting worse than ever. So, I have now decided to switch it...

    Black Moor behavour worries

Hey there! Thanks for the reply. Sometimes I place the filter slightly higher so it makes bubbles in the water but will go out and buy and air stone tomorrow to help even more. Next water change I do tomorrow I'll post readings. Also, what kind of fruit would you recommend? I'll put Regine on...

    Black Moor behavour worries

Hi Chris, Thanks for the reply! And thanks for the compliments - her fins really are spectacular! Regine does this quite regularly every day to be honest, but more so in the evening I tend to find and after feeding. She often takes to sitting at the bottom, too and does get a bit listless. I...

    Black Moor behavour worries

Hi guys I'm afraid I can't provide any up to date tank reading as I'm at work but at the last water change there was nothing out of the ordinary. Maybe I'm worrying too much but my Black Moor Regine is spending a heck of a lot of time near the top of the tank and I can't put my finger on what...
