It is a Ram's Horn Snail, not a "snake." They usually come into a tank with plants. You can smash them before they start rapidly reproducing, and the fish will eat them.

Danios have been with them since the cichlids were 1.25", to make the cichlids come out from hiding. They really don't bother each other. Will keep an eye out, though.

Welll, no surprise, they made a meal of it by dinner time yesterday. By the morning they stopped guarding and harrassing the others. I had read they would probably eat the eggs a few times before figuring it out. Such is life.
