That should be perfect IMO, but everyone on here will have their own opinion as well. But I would use that if I were you

What the hell is this in my tank????

Just to put another scenario out there it could be micro bubbles, people get them in SW a lot from their skimmers.

    Questions about cycling

+1 what the others said. That is a great way to get a head start on cycling. You will just need an ammonia source to keep feeding the BB when you put the filter on the new tank or else the colonies will starve

I would recommend you try to get somewhere in the range of 200 to 300 gph

    Starting a n ew 120 gallon tank

I think you should do a variety of malawi cichlids and maybe 4 bristle nose plecos. From there you could possibly add a Rainbow, the only issue I see is the cichlids ganging up on the shark but they tend to keep their aggressiveness among themselves. The cichlids should be tough enough to handle...

    Disappearing Fish Mystery! HELP!

yeah I don't think my sister is the issue, she wouldn't care to tell me they had died. And 9 fish eaten in 2 weeks? I just find it so hard to believe considering that no ish in my tank are that large, but it's all I have now

Yeah I unfortunately broke down the entire tank, nothing.

Will this combination of tropical fish wok?

Plecos are always a good idea, I would suggest some bristlenose plecos maybe one or 2 max. Coreys are always fun and in a 40 gal, or 150 liter you could add 5 comfortably I would say and they are very active in my tank, but they may try to gain turf in your pirate ship. I would suggest trying to...

    Newbie help please!

One I think you need to make sure the tank cycles fully, and two the ph in your tap may be extremely high, like off the charts. But I would expect the mollies either died from a non cycled tank or shock in the changes in water quality. If you are unable to get the ph down you may want to try...

    Replacement for a rainbow shark!!

I've seen this in SW sections, it sounds kind of goofy but posting pictures on the side of the tank of other cichlids to make him feel outnumbered or putting a mirror to draw aggression towards another rainbow "invading" his territory

    Disappearing Fish Mystery! HELP!

Yeah well it was my sister watching them so I don't think she would mind telling me. And I am very surprised if in two weeks one fish would have killed and eaten 9 other fish all of which have been in a tank together now for many months

    Disappearing Fish Mystery! HELP!

Hey everyone, So I have had my 55 gal up and running for about 8 months now. And the most bizarre thing has happened, 9 fish have disappeared. So I left on vacation for 2 weeks and I came back to 9 fish missing, they were all being fed every other day over this time. Here was the stock: 5...

    Overflow Box/Return Pump

The gph of the return pump is really going to depend on how much head you are giving it. I have a mag drive 9.5 at about 4 feet and I get roughly 600gph

    First oops...

I like your natural tank idea, what size tank do you have? Could you possibly try a large pleco?

I've seen skulls, antlers, busted ships, and as far as building an underwater city with skyscrapers and cars

    Fish died within 12 hours

I agree with everyone above: Step 1. Dechlorinated Water Step 2. Proper cycle and I would say a lot of LFS will allow you to bring a dead fish back for a new one, but I know the ones near me require a water sample to ensure the tank is cycled.

    Starting a tropical fish tank

If when you say "mist" you mean it is cloudy water, then yes it will all settle within a day or so and your water will then be clear.

    A little bored

Everyone seems happy in the tank as it is now with no issues on schools being too small. I don't see this being a large issue, but I understand it is "suggested" by most

    A little bored

I know this, and I have upped my barbs before however my 4 barbs don't seem to play nice with new tank mates if you catch my drift.
