Blood Parrot Cichlid acting wierd, please help!

I'm not sure how he's doing to be honest, he's still the same. He hides a lot but eats normal. I'm not really sure what to do. And it's not possible to upgrade my tank, no. I don't think its a matter of tank size, he has plenty of room to swim, he is by far the largest fish in the tank.

Blood Parrot Cichlid acting wierd, please help!

So is it safe to assume that the behavior change is part of their overall bodily changes as well? Because as I stated above, he has never been like this before. It's almost as if me doing the tank cleaning spooked him or something! Lol. I have had mine for about four months now and he still...

Blood Parrot Cichlid acting wierd, please help!

Alrighty, maybe I will invest in one of those then. I know someone who has one and doesn't use it but somehow I don't see them parting with it even though it goes unused. Lol.

Blood Parrot Cichlid acting wierd, please help!

The ammonia and nitrate readings are both lower too so I think that is fine. The tank has been set up for almost 7 months now and yes it was properly cycled for a month with started fish.

Blood Parrot Cichlid acting wierd, please help!

My water is on the softer side, the alkalinity is low but I have zero knowledge on how to change that, and my PH has always been around 6.5 but I think it may have dropped a bit with the water change. Although I only have test strips at my disposal right now. I don't know how accurate those...

Blood Parrot Cichlid acting wierd, please help!

I know a lot of you are against this type of fish on here but I am sorry to admit that I happen to like them a lot. I have had my blood parrot for about 4 months now I'd say, maybe a little longer (I can't really remember). And for those of you who are against these fish for dieing purposes, I...

    Funny/Irritating/Illogical LPS Story

Yes I can kind of understand the water test as well. The thing that astounded me most was the fact that they just throw out a price at the time of buying them. How do you not have a "set price" for something you have in stock at your store. And I am only keeping it in a 10g until it grows...

    Funny/Irritating/Illogical LPS Story

So I just got back from a local pet store. I was in there the other day for the first time ever and found that they had German Gold Rams which I had never seen before. I went back today with the intentions of buying one to add to my stock in my 10 gallon. When I walked in, the kid working in...

    German Gold Rams

Based on what you guys have given me for input, I think I will splurge and buy a new new German Gold. I have a 10 gallon and a 20 gallon. I know it would be best to put two rams in a 20 gallon but for the start until he gets bigger, do you all think it would be wise of me to put a new small...

    German Gold Rams

I would love to breed the rams, I have taken on quite the soft spot for them. They are really attractive looking fish. I just don't know if they actually would breed. I heard it is not easy to get rams to pair up unless they grow up together and get to make their own choice out of a group.

    German Gold Rams

Does anyone know about the temperament of German Gold Ram cichlids with the other ram species. I never saw them in a store until today and they are gorgeous little fish. I already have a Bolivian and a German blue in two separate tanks and I was wondering if a German Gold would get along with...

    Blood Parrot?

I bought a baby blood parrot cichlid about 3 months ago from my local pet store. Because he was a baby when I bought him, I bought him as a darker color with black stripes similar to those of a convict cichlid due to the cross breeding between the severum and the convict. I am starting to get...

    Gourami Starter Fish?

Well when I cycled my 20 gallon, I bought 5 black skirt tetras and let it cycle for a month before adding in any other fish. And I monitored the water levels and everything for the month as well. I planned on doing it the same way with the 10g. I am just trying to put together some sort of...

    Gourami Starter Fish?

Are there any "good starter fish" out there besides tetras? I cycled my 20g with tetras and had a bad experience so for the time being, I'm trying to stay on a Tetra-hiatus. lol

    Gourami Starter Fish?

I have read on multiple websites that the dwarf gouramis and the honey gourami are very hardy fish. Can they be used as "starter fish" for a new tank, or should it cycle first with other fish? :fish2:

    Gourami Questions

My girlfriend and I recently updated to a 20 gal tank from our 10 gal, and we're thinking of keeping the 10 gal instead of giving it away to a friend. She is really into gouramis, but we can't put any in our 20 gal because we already have a decent number of fish in it. Kissing gouramis are her...
