    Purple fleshy algae?

It comes off pretty easy. It’s all over my live rock and I’m pretty sure it’s Cyano bacteria. Not sure about chemiclean, is it reef safe?

    Blue Ribbon Eel, Naughty Boy!

He’s certainly well fed! Cutting back slightly while they’re in the holding tank but usually gets fed every other day. I’m not sure what the two photos are on this post, it’s not even my tank so god knows where they came from

    Blue Ribbon Eel, Naughty Boy!

Well, after a whole afternoon. Of stripping down my old tank and transferring all of my live stock into a holding tank, I have just witnessed for the first time my blue ribbon eel catching one of my other fish! Quite spectacular to see actually. The fish managed to escape, I think it was a...

    Blue Ribbon Eel

Yes he was feeding on the first day and doesn’t stop eating. I feed him every other day with white bait and he loves them. Been in my tank for around 5 months now

    Uk Controllers? Which one?

I’m trying to find a good controller for my tank like the Neptune Apex or similar but I can’t seem to find anything with the same or similar capabilities with Uk plugs. Anyone out there have any decent controllers in the Uk and if so what did you go for?

    What is this white haze?

Lol no I wish it was that easy. It’s on the inside of the glass, done some research and it could be down to the previous owner of the tank over dosing calcium.

    What is this white haze?

Hi Guys, can anyone recommend how to restore this glass? I have tried scrubbing it and scraping in with a razor but it won’t shift. Does anyone know what it is?

New Aqua One Reef Set up

    Two MP10’s or two MP40’s?
  15. begginersluck

New Aqua One Reef Set up

That makes sense. When I had my MP 40’s in a 5 foot corner tank I ran two and had them at maximum 50% otherwise they caused a sand storm so I am wondering if two MP 10’s would be sufficient for this tank. They claim to be rated up to 190 litres so would two of these do the job?

New Aqua One Reef Set up

I am more drawn towards the Maxspect as it seems it would produce the right amount APR flow with just one in place baring in mind this is a 4 foot tank. In my experience with MP40’s I think I would need two? I might be wrong

New Aqua One Reef Set up

Ok so I’m thinking about flow and I’m interested to find out what people think about the Maxspect Gyre pumps against the EcoTech Vortech? I have had the Ecotech MP40’s in the past and though they were great however I didn’t give the Gyre much thought. Anyone have experience with the two?

New Aqua One Reef Set up

Yes I was planning on using the middle section as a refugium but worry it’s too small for the tank size. I will also be running a media reactor for phosphate removal, any preferences on brands etc? Been looking at the EcoTech Radions, I want a sunset/sunrise automated system ideally wireless...

    D-D Reverse Osmosis Unit

Good idea. I will try that this evening. I think I may have to just go and buy the RO water from my LFS otherwise I believe it will take days

New Aqua One Reef Set up

So I have been looking forward to upgrading to this 400 litre aquarium and a few ideas. The old tank as you can see in the picture is only around 120 litres and the filtration which is built into the back is very limited and to be honest almost useless. I thought about removing the rear ‘sump’...

    D-D Reverse Osmosis Unit

I have searched and searched for the specifications on these units and cannot find anything to tell me how much RO water is produced per day, hour or minute etc. I am trying to work out how long it will take me to make up 450 litres of RO water for my new aquarium. Any help is appreciate...

    Clown looking odd

Yes exactly what I'm worried about. I'm going to remove him and set up a small at tank for him. I assume hypo will work to some extent for brook? I will also get some other treatment for him even though I doubt he will make it
