Hi,
I've been overwhelmed by majanos. I've tried aptasia-x, kulc paste, Joes juice, lemon juice, picking them off but nothing has worked. They are in my sump and everywhere. Most advice I've received is to start over. Any ideas?
Thanks
I want a one spot foxface. Other than that, this tank is more about learning salt and corals for a future project. What kind of reefs are there? I've been thinking moderate flow and moderate lighting and know there won't be many fish with the size. With the fox not working and I'm stuck with...
That makes sense, I appreciate your insight.....at this point, what options do I have for fish having the tang in there?

It was a baby one spot foxface with a bristletooth tomini tang. My hope is to learn and get a large tank in the future they could move to as they out grow the current one.

I've noticed this in my tank. I assume it's from the skimmer in my sump which seems to be turbulent on the water.

Oh, the fox was the first one in the tank. Roughly 6 weeks off the top of my head and the tang for a couple of weeks now

Not sure if that's good or bad news. I've read its possible and seeing the crab pick put two and two together. Only other new thing I've noticed is a slug like creature that spits in the air.
As for the tang, its possible fox was stressed from the tang. The fox followed the tang like a big...
What other options would there be? Water parameters seem to be fine. Everyone else and corals seem to be doing well....the only other sign was the day before he was hiding and didn't eat. ..

I came home tonight thinking about providing an update on how things are going and DISASTER struck! An emerald crab looks to have killed my foxface. I wasn't expecting this! I checked the parameters and they look good....nitrates are higher than yesterday, up to 10 from 2, and I assume that is...
I went away for the weekend and an Algae bloom came in. Here is a before and after picture....I have been reading macro algae can be good while micro is a nuisance. Are any of the algae in the pictures beneficial? I think the red algae is beneficial. Here is a before and after picture. I know...
Thanks, I'll be checking out the stock at the lfs tomorrow for some CUC but am considering ordering a package online. I am trying to figure out, the sump is blowing particles of some sort into the tank. I'm not sure what it could be other than salt or maybe overflow from the skimmer? It appears...
Looks like it was just my paranoia. When the lights come on he goes straight to life, swimming with his reflection. I've never seen that before.
Lots of algae building up though. Need to think through a CUC before I look at corals

First signs of trouble! Parameters are good, did a water change and went to the lfs. Came home with a young one spot foxface and a coral banded shrimp.
Shrimp is doing fine chilling in a cave. The foxface was definitely stressed, turning zebra but opened up, color bright, and was swimming in the...
I appreciate the thoughts and am curious from the experience on here if there have been concerns or not with the list.
I am looking at how I'm setting up the lights and wonder if a controller is worthwhile or if a power strip with timers is sufficient. Thoughts? All I think I really need are...
Thanks, it's incredibly quiet which I love. The skimmer was making the sludge but I cleaned it when it was overflowing....
I was looking at the Valenti puffer. I can have crabs and shrimp with one? Been trying to find the inverts i can have with one.....I think I'm close on the stocking list...
Lights are up. I'll clean up the wiring and plug into a timer/controller sometime this week.
I almost had a disaster as I was leaving for work Fri. When I was checking the skimmer, one of the rocks fell....luckily there was not even a scratch.
But I will need to redesign the layout into a...
That's a great idea, thanks.
How big do their mouths get? Would clowns work? I'm assuming no gobies....

Thanks. And thanks, looks like the skimmer is working well. I will put up some pix when my camera is charged. It looks like the lights are going to be harder to mount than I thought. The wiring kit is only a foot or so. I'll have to make a run to home depot tomorrow.
I also need to find a way to...
I'll have to look into what inverts smaller puffers eat. Got the lights in and need to set them up.

Thanks. I'm still working on those nitrates coming down!
The coral beauty is nice but makes sense not to have an angel with the corals.
Puffers eating the CUC doesn't sound the best either....
One Spot Foxface, bristletooth tang, and some snowflake clowns are my thoughts now.
I'm looking into...
