Had to put one of my female CPD's down today due to a swim bladder problem :( Done 50% water change, pulled out some plants that weren't doing well and replaced with different ones purchased today, trimmed my grasses, added a terracotta pot and searched for a missing CPD, still no luck finding him..

For the most part yes they're low to mid level swimmers, however mine seem exceedingly brave and will quite often go for a short swim at the top of my tank especially if I've just fed them

I think the CPD's would be fine with that stock. I currently have 10 CPD's with lemon tetras and my CPD's are anything but shy in my tank

So far all I've found is that they grow to about 10cm, they lay eggs on the underside of stones which the males guard until they hatch, they're carnivorous and they need a lot of oxygen. Other than that i can't seem to find a great deal about them :/ which is weird considering they're native.

Definitely not a hill stream loach lol :D all I know is it's a bottom dweller. Normally I only catch minnows and trout fry when I go to the river with my son so this fish was a bit of a surprise. Definitely the most awesome native fish I've found here though
