Half to 3/4 of it has shrunk in the last hour. And the bottom on each tentacle has turned greenish brown. Instead of the normal Please help. Don't want it to die. Clown is still tryin to host.

Little "hairs" or legs on eah segment of body. Caught them crawling around some corals. Are they harmless. Or do I flush them?

I swim daily at my job currently.
When I do tank maintenance like scraping some bits of algea or removing uneaten food. Could I be contaminating the water with excess chlorine? I always shower before messing with the tank I'm just worried

Guy at LFS offered me a couple of these. Said they were small starfish. They all seem to have six arms/legs/tentacles.
If this is a starfish. What kind ?

Noticed a small patch of purple-ish algea on a rock. Is this cyano? And how do I combat it? Normal anti algea procedures? I've reduced my lights by two hours. And added de nitrate into my "sump" area for already have some phosphate removal stuff. May need to change it out...
I found a refractometer on amazon for $20. Says it's useful for all kinds of different water testing needs. Including saltwater aquariums. The one on dr fosters and smith is 40$????
