    Newly cycled tank losing fish

So I've treated the ich successfully and now have two adults left in the tank. A male and a female. I also have 4 fry that have survived this ordeal. I would say it was a correct assumption in thinking it was a whole other issue and ich was a secondary disease outbreak from stress but everything...

    Newly cycled tank losing fish

So turns out I have ich. One of my fish is covered this morning but seems to be acting normal. I'm gradually raising the temp and am on my way out to buy some salt.

    Newly cycled tank losing fish

I'm not sure. I know the swordtails have a decent bioload. Before I added fish my bb were processing 4ppm of ammonia in less than a day.

    Newly cycled tank losing fish

I acclimated using drip method. I'm not sure if the lfs uses salt but I don't. I'll check with them tomorrow when I stop by.

    Newly cycled tank losing fish

Did some research and possible swim bladder disease for the latest death based on the symptoms I witnessed: Floating somewhat sideways near the top of the tank without much movement, Sinking to the bottom and then dashing to the top for air... Unknown cause for the other 3 that died as I did...

    Newly cycled tank losing fish

I have a 45g tank and completed a fish-less cycle last week. I went out and bought some swordtails. I started with 10, which overstocked my tank a little when you consider adult sizes. I bought fish on Sunday. All was great the next few days and my fish were active and eating fine. Then I...

    Fish is M.I.A.

Thanks for the advice, This is what I thought happened but I just found it interesting the other two dead fish were untouched. Probably because the other fish were full. My tank only consists of 7 other swordtails. I don't feel too bad about the 3 losses, The LFS talked me into getting more...

    Fish is M.I.A.

So one of my swordtails Is missing. I had 2 fatalities this morning of other swordtails from unknown cause which I'm currently investigating. My main concern right now is I am missing one of my fish. It definitely did not jump out of the tank as I have searched the floor. I also checked in and...

Some guidance is needed - stalled cycle

Yea, 10 is maxing my tank out with my current filtration. There is room if I upgrade my filtration but I'll stick to what I have now, they are fun to watch and breeding them may prove interesting. To acclimate them, I used the drip method for about 45 minutes. The fish that had been acting...

Some guidance is needed - stalled cycle

So the wife talked me into getting some swordtails... I have 10 and have managed to keep almost a 2 to 1 ratio of male to female. I just acclimated them and one of the males seems to be acting funny so I will be watching him the rest of the day.

Some guidance is needed - stalled cycle

I knew they were aggressive but from what I had been reading, it looks as if 8 is the minimum to reduce their aggression towards other fish. I am also not picky about the Corys I will be getting. My LFS usually only has a couple different specifies. This is also what I will be stocking my...

Some guidance is needed - stalled cycle

JLK was SUPER helpful in getting me through my stalled cycle. So, I have put some thought into my stock. I original thought zebria danios with some corys. Then I changed my mind while doing some research. Now I'm thinking 10 tiger barbs and about 6 Corys. My tank footprint is 36"x12". Is...
