With my tax return $ I'm going to buy either a 55 or 70 gal. setup for my basement. It will be a peaceful tank w/ probably 75lbs of LR and 2-3" of sand I know all the basics for the fish, cycling, feeding etc. but I don't know too much about all the other stuff like powerheads skimmers filters...

A place about 5 miles from my house has live fiji rock 10lbs or less for 8.99/lb, 10-20lbs for 7.99, 20lbs+ 6.99. I thought that was pretty good considering another place sells it for 14.99. They've gotta be drunk or something :? Also of all the LFS's I've been to all I see is fiji.

I did try searching and came up with over a thousand results. Also I have not read everything (yet) newbies should read. That being said... Instead of using the fish or shrimp method of cycling, am I correct in assuming I can use uncured LR to cycle a tank? Also, If I were to put sand down...

Could someone in the area reccomend a reputable? I have a hard time trusting pretty much any of them. I mean, they are just trying to make a buck and will basically tell you anything you want to hear. Thanks!
