Never heard that about pockets of gas. I guess its time to do alil more research into it. The only drawback I have seen so far from the sand it its black and the tank and stand is oak lol.

I'm gonna do a 50% pwc prob tomorrow. I was in a hurry to get the fish back in. I always just float my bio wheels (Penguin 350) when I gotta do something like this, or when I actually clean my filter out.

    Fairly new Cichlid tank

I've got 2 marineland penguin 350's and LOVE them. I've got one on a 20g and the other on a 46g bow front. Don't ever have to clean or replace the biowheels and I've been able to swap filter cartridges anytime I want with no ill effects!

What Did You do With Your Tank Today?

75% pwc on my 46g bf community tank. Had to throw out the air pump and 6inch stone. The stone was broke in 2 and the pump was a dual outlet pump that had both diaphrams cracked. Hooked up my backup pump and another 6inch stone. Scubbed the heck out of 3 of the 4 sides. Added start right and api...

Well considering I've only owned oscar, angelfish, M. Johanni, golden ram, german blue ram, and bolivian ram, I would have to say the oscar. He was pretty mean to our albino african clawed frog

quick question about oscar and filter

I've got a marineland penguin 350 on a 20g so I would say yes. Take one of your filters out and put the penguin in. May I suggest trying to get atleast a 55g and to stay away from tall tanks. Your gonna want a tank with a large footprint. A 75g would be your best bet with your oscar.
