I guess it's normal. I bought one a month ago and it took him a few days to come out. Then, when he finally did venture out, he swam all over the tank, but he was upside down. He's chilled out within the last week and a half or so.

I had this same problem. There are submersible uv sterilizers, should fit fine in 29g. But if your not into that, the gold head sleeper goby sifts through the sand and will fix the problem. $15 fish that may be my best buy to date

Easy main tank treatment Had an ich problem luckily before I was close to the end of stocking my new 56 gal. Qt 3 fish and used copper. Ich was gone in 48 hours. Best thing to do for the main tank is a uv sterilizer. Toss it in the sump while the fish are in the qt and raise the temp a bit
