    LFS water!

Wondering... Did you test the water that the fish were in or did you get a separate water sample?

I knew that. Wow... Major brain fart there... Sorry!

    pregnant catfish or bloated?

Catfish are scavengers and can very quickly over eat. This doesn't mean yours did but it is a huge possibility. Cut back on the feeding some if you can and see if that helps things. Also, check the scales. Are the scales sticking out away from the body even a little? Is the area pinkish? Pale...

    Amazon Sword question.

I would leave it. The plant looks healthy to me. I only pull the leaves out if they melt or come off the plant and are floating in the water.

    Planted vs Salted

I think that you will get a lot of different opinions here. It all depends on what you want to do and how much effort you wish to put into it. Some on here put hours and hours each week into the tank doing something daily, others feed daily, do the WC once a week. Pre kids I had saltwater...

    Cories

You could check AquaBid.com, they have pygmy cories too. Pygmy cory cats are small, like the dwarf cories.

    Help!

My guess it that they are adjusting to the new tank. Give them time and they will grow back.

    Help!

Are they new to the tank? Most times when I get a new plant, or even when I move the plants around, the leaves die off and new bright green ones grow back after a little while.

    Cories

Dwarf cory cats are very small. I don't think they get larger than 1 inch.

    Moonlights...suggestions?

It looks like it would be to bright to me, or for my tastes anyway. I have this one in a 60 and it is bright enough to see but not bright enough to grow a lot of extra algae. Amazon.com: Aqueon Flex LED Aquarium Bubble Wand, 14-Inch, Blue: Pet Supplies You don't have to use the bubble part...

    Upside Down Catfish issue...

I have had an odd experience with my upside down catfish and I hope that someone can give some advice. For over a year I have had 20 neon tetras, 3 green cory cats, 1 skunk cory cat, 2 upside down catfish, & 3 Siamese algae eaters living in a medium density planted 60 gal tank. I do weekly...

    Water changes

In my 60 gal I have 3 green cory cats and 5 gold white clouds and a lot of live plants with two penguin 350 and a EHEIM Classic 2217. One penguin 350 filter a 50 to 70 gal tank and the eheim filters 150 gals and that is all on one 60 gal tank. My 29 bow front has 2 bumblebee mollies and a lot of...

    Water changes

I won't be leaving until after the first of the year. I always do a 50% water change every Saturday. I can even do one the morning of my flight and the evening I get back. That would leave 19 days without a water change.

    Water changes

I do weekly water changes on all my tanks. I test the water two or three times a week to make sure everything is ok. So my question is how long could I go between water changes if the water tests are ok? I ask because I'm going to help my brother for close to three weeks and I wont have...

    29 gallon starter kits?

I like the Marineland Penguin Power Filters. I have a 350 on my 29 bow but that filter is bigger than I needed. You could get a 200 and would be fine. I always get more filter than I need and the difference in price was only $5. Amazon.com has a 350 for $30 and if you are a prime member then...

    29 gallon starter kits?

Any solid table or a dresser would hold a tank. I have my 29 bow front tank on a table. Just make sure it's real wood and not pressboard. That you could get at a yardsale, thrift store, or on Craig's list and pay very little. Craig's list is also a good place to look for a used tank or...

Molly help - not looking well

My son is 15, not really a child, that is why I don't go in his room everyday. I started treating today, once it is done I will see if I can't find a new spot for the tank. Thanks for the help.

Molly help - not looking well

I have Kanaplex here, so I will start tonight. Is this something that is in the tank, should treat in the 29 gal or can I pull her and put her in the sick tank and treat just her? I would hate to treat her and put her back in only to have her get it again because it is in the tank. Thanks...

Molly help - not looking well

Whats the best way to treat dropsy? With meds right? Would it hurt to treat the tank "just in case"? I hate to medicate unless I have to but I can't think of anything else to do to help her and I don't want anyone else getting sick - they may already be sick but I just don't know it yet.

Molly help - not looking well

I looked it up and everything i read said it was bloating or swelled stomach. She doesn't have that at all. I hope she gets better too.

Molly help - not looking well

The ph is 6.8 to 7.0. That is what it is in all my tanks, I have done nothing to mess with what it is naturally where I live. I have 2F/1M and they are the only thing in the 29 gal. One of them had babies a week or so ago, not sure who though. I saw some very small babies in there the last...

Molly help - not looking well

It's my first time keeping mollies. I thought they were like most fish, but I'm quickly finding out they aren't. Thanks for the advice, I'll look into adding salt to the tank. I was trying to find out if she is sick and I need to treat the tank. I guess since no one knows, and all the...

Molly help - not looking well

I'm not sure what is wrong with my molly, I hope someone here can help. It looks like the scales on her tail are raised. Its only on her tail and only with this fish. It doesn't seem to be hindering her swimming or anything. Also her gills look red to me, though my son says she has always...
