    Paul's DIY Rimless Frag Tank

I have already posted this in my tank thread but figured I would share here where it belongs as well. I ran across a free 1/4" sheet of untempered glass. I decided to try my hand at making a shallow rimless frag tank with it. The measurements I went with are 24"L, 18"W, & 8"T. It totals out to...

    Anemone Show Off Thread

Did not see one already made so I figured I'd start a thread for people to show off their anemones. I currently have 3 small anemones now with the new addition of a Mini-Maxi in my 40 gallon reef tank. Entacmaea quadricolor Epicystis crucifer Stichodactyla tapetum

Why is my Acan loosing tissue?

I've had this particular acan about 2-3 years and have never had a problem with it. I did however just move my 38 gallon tank and all inhabitants into this new 40 breeder tank I have setup now. Everything else is doing very well. I first noticed this spot on my acan a few days ago and it appears...

    Paul's 40 Gallon Reef

Ok, so as some of you may know I currently have a 38 gallon that I will be transferring to this new 40 breeder I picked up from Petco since they had the $1 per gallon sale. I know its only 2 gallons more but the footprint is so much better for a reef tank. Plus my old tank has sone scratches on...

    Ruby Red Dragonet Concern

So as some of you know I have a male and female ruby red dragonet. The original male that I got with the female that was supposedly a pair jumped ship awhile back. I ended up ordering another male and they have been eating well but steering clear of one another. Just today I noticed the male...

Can You Change a Thread's Title?

Is there a way that I can change the tittle of my build thread? The only reason is that what I thought to be a 39 gallon tank is a 38 gallon tank, and wouldn't mind correcting that without creating a new thread of course. If not, not biggie, just bothers me a little.

    Easy fix for actinics photos!

Have you ever tried to take a photo of that killer new coral you picked up but all you get is a blue photo from the actinics? I think most of us have! Especially if you have a cheap camera and are not a professional photographer (like me)! No matter how many times you mess with the white balance...

Post Your Coral Progression Pics Here!

There is nothing more rewarding than seeing a tiny coral frag grow up to be a big colony one day. As I was looking through some old photos the other day of my tank I realized how much some things in my tank have grown. Don't really notice as much when you see it everyday. That's why I decided to...

Picked this up after I traded in some xenia and zoa drags yesterday at the LFS. They wasn't sure what it was either. Any ideas?

    I need an ATO.

So I've been debating on which ATO to get for my 39 gallon reef tank (+20g sump which it will be hooked too). I want one without moving parts like either the new hydor smart level. Anybody use this one or have anymore suggestions? I do want quality but I'm not looking to spend way too much.

Very small 'Abalone' snail ID please!

I was given a few of these from my old LFS saltwater manager. They are under 1" in size, reef-safe, and some of the best cleaners thay i've seen. I wouldnt mind getting some more but cant find an ID on them. They have a flat shell on their back. Doesnt look like a limpet either.

Figured I'd get a thread going to see some favorite inverts from the community members here at AA! I love some of my inverts just as much as my fish. I'll start it off with some of my favorite inverts in my tank. Red Linkia (hands down my favorite invert in my tank)- Flame Scallop-...

    Red Footed Snail ID please

I found this guy in sump today and I remember putting him there a long time ago because I didn't know what type it is or if its harmful to other CUC or coral. I put him in my DT but put him right back in the sump cause I just don't trust it yet.LOL I did try to get a decent Pic while he was in...

    Best Wrasse Bait

Ive been given a leopard wrasse and might need to catch my yellow chysus wrasse (about 3"). Im aware of the bottle trap method as i used it for a dottyback before. What type of food or bait will be simply irresistible for my chrysus wrasse. Hes pretty smart. I tried frozen krill for an hour last...

    Leopard Wrasse?

So a buddy of mine who is about to tear down their tank just got a leopard wrasse (about 2"-3" in size). Hes kept many wrasses together in thr same tank and i never have. I realize its an 'expert only' fish because of their finicky feeding habits. My tank is almost 2 years running and it is 39...

    Red Starfish ID Please!

I was given this guy the other day. It was labeled as a 'red linckia starfish'. If this is the case I will need to rehome it as my tank is only a 39 gallon. Its almost 3" in diameter. It looks just like the orange sea star (Echinaster sp.) on LiveAquaria to me. Link-...

    Enough Room in Tank?

I have a 39 gallon with 20 gallon sump and im considering getting a melenarus wrasse. Ive been told they do great in a 40 gallon. I only have 2 other fish and they are both ocellaris clowns. Will the hoeven's wrasse (melenarus) be good in my tank? I have no shrimp, just snails and hermits. I do...

    Phosban Reactor?

Did a little research on reactors with gfo, carbon, & purigen ran in them. Ive havent had a problem according to my API test with phosphates in a good while but not sure about silicates and what not.
