Well I have three peices of fake coral with caves in the tank so I think there is plenty of hiding spots...I thought tiger barbs were suspossed to get along with the red tail shark. For 4 weeks everything was fine. The tiger barbs chased each other around and that was the only aggression.... and...
Guys fairly new to the hobby...have a 65 gallon tank that I currently have 1 red tail shark, 4 tiger barbs, 4 roseline sharks and 5 cory cats....everything has been fine for a couple of weeks(4 weeks)...now all of a sudden my red Tail shark has started being really aggressive towars the tiger...
Yes the 6 tiger barbs and the 5 little barbs are fine. Just looks like the LFS fish are the ones suffering from this. I added 5 tablespoons of aquarium salt this afternoon. I don't know if this will help or do anything....this really sucks. Makes me so upset to lose all those fish.
It hasn't gotten any better:banghead: I have now lost 4 of the 5 large Denison barbs and 3 of the 6 Black Ruby Barbs. The last large Denison Barb has a large round white circle around it's Dorsal fin....I think this might be ICH....How do I know for sure and how do i treat this??? Please help...
yes we have multiple caves in the tank...Saturday and yesterday he was in and out of the caves...today just hanging in the back of the tank behind the one emperor 400 intake tube....
it is weird that all the fish from the LFS are the ones not doing well while the ones from the large pet chain seem to be fine....LFS bought 5 denision barbs (3 died) and bought 1 red tail shark ( he just hangs around the back and hides, dosen't swim the tank much), and 6 Black Ruby Barbs (3...
the only thing I remember seeing was small red blotches on the bellies on the denision barbs...the Black ruby's I didn't see anything but they are black and a deep red so maybe didn't notice....
Have a 65 gallon tank that was fishless cycled. The temperature is currently set at 75 degrees and I have 2 emperor 400's running plus 2 airstones....

Ok just tested water and got the following results
Ammonia - 0
Nitrite - 0
Nitrate - 10
pH - 7.6 on regular ph test
Just wanted piece of mind....also just added 9ml of ammonia to redose it back to 4ppm.
Now we wait until tomorrow....
yes I unplug the heater as well as shut off the power strip which has my 2 emperor filters and my air pump plugged into before I begin to remove the water with my python and then once refilled I turn everything back on and plug the heater back in.....This is correct right????:confused::ermm...

Ok so sounds good....but I have a question...do I do 100% water change and wait 20-30 minutes and then test the water and if Nitrates are not down to under 20 do another 100% water change??? Or just do 1 water change don't test and just add 4ppm ammonia again???:confused:

We have good news and some bad news....

pH -7.0
Ok so the good news we were able to take 4ppm ammonia and zero it out in 24hrs as well as having 0 nitrites. And the nitrates are sky high...
Bad news is looks like I am experiencing a pH...
