    I love the contrast of the Labs and the Acei looks good in the tank. You could do 3 or 4 with the Labs...I wouldn't do any more than that because they get pretty big (around 6"). Acei are very calm fish...at least mine are.

    I just set up my 55 and have Labs, Cobalts, Acei, and Afra Cobue. Tank is very chill, no one is overly aggressive and its a great color mix.

    I got my rocks from a local landscaping company. Hand picked my rocks and filled a 5 gal bucket for $5. Rocks were washed. Of course I washed them again in baking soda and water. It worked for me.

    Filtration right now is at 500GPH...Gonna wait and see how it goes as the fish get bigger. If it doesn't turn out to be enough I may add a canister filter, but right now all is well. After taking out the Maingano the whole tank changed...very laid back now.

    I think you're going to be fine...if ammonia has been elevated that long its just a matter of time for the bacteria to kick in and do it's job..Prime should not kill your bacteria.

    I did have another question. I keep reading about stocking with 1 male to 3 female ratio, but if you stock with juvies isn't almost impossible to tell at such a small age?

    Looked at some mbuna at my LFS and you guys are right, there are plenty to choose from that will make a great looking tank.....if this thing will finish the cycle I could get started.:whistle:
