I am talking about the JBJ Nano-cube 12 Gal Deluxe. It has everything included in the kit... lighting, powerhead, filtration, overflows....everything except a protien skimmer. It also doesn't come with a stand. It runs just under $200 for it, or I can go with the 24 Gal Deluxe for about $300.

So I just closed on a refi of my house and I have a little extra money from the closing. I am trying to decide if I should go with a nano-cube or a bigger tank. there are advantages to both: Nano Pros: *The nano-cube comes with everything it needs.... pumps, power head, 8 WPG 50/50 lighting...

some times you have to roll with whatever life throws at you. Keep your chin up. If you love the aquarium life, than you will have another one day... probably sooner than you think...

so if you use a HOB on a 10 gal that is pushing 250 GPH, do you need additional power heads?

Problem is... that web site is out of stock of every snail on that page.... is that their normal price on them or did they lower the price in order to get rid of them and that is why they are out of stock on all of them?

I would have to agree.... Used media is first choice.... seeding with you substrate would be 2nd... Zagz .... that is a great trick that I hadn't heard of... have you tried this? Enought water flow through the hose?

Hawkfish are great.... they will turn and follow you as you walk past the tank and they aren't too shy most of the time. Big thing, though, is that they will eat shrimp in your tank.... they like em.

They max out at about 7 inches....but keep in mind that the mexican can be kept by itself......but is MUCH happier in a group of 2 or 3

If your thinking of doing a 15 gal....a "nano tank"....you should check out www.nano-reef.com also.....it is a GREAT site for nano reefs...they need to be treated differently than a larger tank in some ways. Of course it is the general concensus that the more gal you have the easier it is to...
