I have these dark maroon polyp growths next to my hitchhiker mushroom and I was wondering if anyone knew what these were?

I have had a hitchhiker mushroom for a couple months. Today I noticed it kind of shriveled up and now it has become detached. Below is a pic it's now a purpleish color.

I have a red mushroom hitchhiker that has been around for a few months. I noticed today that it wasn't as full as it has been. It's become detached from the LR and is now purpleish. Below is a pic. Any help is appreciated.

Thanks for the help. I was afraid I had an overfeeding problem and this was just a result of it. One of my hermits fell on it and it retracted so I guess they are living things. Thanks again.

It's very small. I haven't introduced an anemone. They just don't appear do they?

I have this "growth" on my LR and not sure what it is. Here's a pic.

He's between 7-8 also. He's by far the most entertaining fish in the tank. Very dominant and a food hog.

I have a maroon clown I adopted from a friend that was ditching her tank. He's a quirky thing. He has adopted my Duncan coral as a home and is very protective of it. Plus he likes to sift sand in his mouth and move it around with his tail. Is this a normal behavior of these clowns?

I recently noticed a small red mushroom growing on LR. I don't have any mushrooms in my tank. I guess it was a hitchhiker from the rock. Any precautions I need to take with a red mushroom?

Thanks guys. I siphoned out the sand and did a PWC also. We will see how it does. Also cutting back on the feeding amount.

I seem to have an abundance of purple growth on my live sand. What causes this and how to fix it?

Thanks for all your help guys. I arrived home this morning from work and found him TU in the sand. Guess he wasn't as well as he seemed. Are clown fish more susceptible to illness and dying as other fish. We have had four that haven't made it. Meanwhile our Chinese zebra dart fish, Pygmy...

Yeah it's similar to your young one. He is very active and swims and everything seems normal. Just that spot on nose ad dorsal. Thanks for the help.
