Picked up a channa pulchra yesterday and researched how to care for them but I couldn't find much information, I would like a pleco especially a blue phantom and I know my set up is ok for 1 but will the snake head be to aggressive?

Thanks for the reply, the tank will be done in the next 1-2 months and if I add them slowly what sort of time gap between adding them? I don't want to put 1 or 2 in there to establish a territory and grow then add more and the new smaller ones to get attacked/dominated and die from the stress?

I'm don't know a great deal about marine set ups but It sounds to me that your having something called die off which I think is something to do with your LR but idk how to fix it as for the sand you have to stir it up and then the debris lays on top because its lighter and you hold the syphon...

When was the last time you cleaned the filter and vacuumed the gravel? Also what is your tank size and stock?

Yea that should work as long as the other fish are bigger than the leaf fish can eat and I agree it might be better to add the leaf fish last but you can work around this by changing decor etc. good luck.

I hate seeing this too! I have seen really good lfs go down hill badly when staff change, always a shame to see it

Sorry you lost you fish, that sucks :( I don't think leaf fish are schooling fish so 1 would be fine as far as I know and I have seen them fairly big (like 10 inch at least) at a lfs so not sure how many would be suitable for a 46g, and I have no idea about the oto's I wouldn't think they was...

I have room but I don't want a pond because it will loose to much heat and the running costs would be astronomical and also the risk of herons and cats getting at my aquatic beasties. I have been looking at large plywood aquarium designs but I'm thinking brick might be a longer lasting method.
