Me again, sorry for all the questions! Am I ok to use the Epsom salts and swimbladder medicine at the same time? He's due a dose of swimbladder medicine but I only dosed Epsom salts yesterday. Thanks

He's only in a 25 litre at the minute, but I'm looking to expand that ASAP. Would you still recommend making the water shallower for him?

Any advice as to what the purplish marks might be on his head? They're abit darker in the flesh. I noticed them a couple of days ago but they now seem to be getting worse... He's been spending a lot of time upside down due to his swimbladder so I'm not sure if it could be bruising or something??

Thanks for all the advice.. I have only been feeding him peas every few days just incase there is a blockage and he is prone to constipation so I'm always careful to not over feed him. I've never done an Epsom salt bath before though, so I will try that. Is the salt available from specialist pet...

Thank you, I have made a little cut in the filter and removed the carbon. I have replacement filters for when the treatment has finished. Thank you again :)

Update on Steve.. His red/purple blotch has now gone and he is back to his usual, healthy self! Thanks for all the advice :) To anyone that has owned Orandas at what age did they start to develop their wen? Mine are about 18 months old now and no sign, I was told they should start developing...

Thank you for all your advice, i shall be purchasing a liquid test kit in the morning. It should only be a week or so until I can get them a much bigger tank again. And yes I did a water change as soon as I noticed that Steve was poorly. Thanks again for the advice :)

Ah my fiancés choice of name, I got to name the other Oranda (Bertie). At the minute they're in a tank smaller than they should be as we had a problem with our old one and are just in the process of replacing it, the tank they're in is only 21 litres so I'm wondering if that has anything to do...
