I use Prime with every pwc, dosed accordingly. Either these fish are in hungry mode, or they're panicked. I guess we'll know soon enough - even though all the readings were normal or very, very slightly abnormal. I dunno. Time will tell...and more PWC's.

Thanks Zimmer... I just tested everything and as expected the nitrates are a tad high, but thankfully just barely - and the ammonia is a little high, but hopefully a few water changes and an additional filter pack will get it back to normal. It did kinda freak me out at first - but testing made...

I'm not sure about that, but I realized on week 1 with my platys that they are alot like a Beagle. They will eat as much as I will feed them.

On that last water change, could you have forgotten to add the declorineator (sp?) before adding the new water? Now, that said - would that have killed him? I dunno. What I do know is that almost everyone has fish die sooner or later. Don't beat yourself up too bad over it. :)

It's in my tank too but fortunately it's not too bad - like you said, it's just on the ornaments ( and a few larger rocks I have). It's less than it was two weeks ago, so I'll just let it do it's thing. My one fish doesn't seem to mind.

If you don't leave the lights on at least 10 hours a day your fish will become depressed and most likely try to jump out of the aquarium and let's face it - fish suicide is no laughing matter. Although, truth be told I am totally kidding you. :)

The angels took the fish? Sorry, but IMHO ( and no offense ) that's horrible advice. I don't know of any religion that teaches that animals go to heaven. As for the question, tell them the truth. The earlier they understand how the world (and life) works, the better. I think kids can handle it...
