I had the same problem I vacuumed lightly on the sand bed and got most of it turned my lights off for 3 days did 2 water changes and it died off I also changed from 12 hours of light to 8 and it died off
Ok repositioned power heads did 2 water changes even sifted the sand bed where it was and it came back also cut back on feeding how do I get rid of this stuff will my cuc do anything to it.
Thanks for responding so fast so should I vacuum out that purple stuff while doing a water change. Also I feed on the right side of the tank this stuff is on the left where there is high flow hmmm
All I can say is be patient this hobby is all about patience if ya don't have it this hobby is not a good one to start lol. Keep testing it will turn all is a sudden also do u have live rock in the tank while ur cycling.
Mt DT over flows into the fist tank witch is the seahorse tank it has 2 baffles fists chamber is a sock filter with a homemade sock holder made out of a 4" PVC y adapter then the second chamber is the seahorse side with a 1" overflow in the top right corner that over flows into my second sump...
Thanks a lot it took a while lol I have my display tank over flow to my seahorse tank then that over flows to my sump where I have my heater skimmer reactor and then back to the DT here's some more pics
