I am currently in the process of putting together a drilled 220 gallon tank. It will be at least a year till I can set it up but I almost have everything I need. Only big piece I'm missing is a return pump. I'm going to custom build the stand out of wood which will hold the 75 gallon sump. I...
If it was me I would try to get fish around the same size. Just dont over do it. Overstocking and moving decor around is good in some instances and bad in others.
I had 1 oscar in a 75 for a little over a year it went from 2 inches to almost 10 in that time period. They grow extremely fast given a good diet and good water maintenance.
My salvini I had wouldn't have got along with plants. She liked to dig up fake ones and make them float. I eventually went with all driftwood in my tank.
Good choice of fish, Salvinis are great. When they do finaly breed I don't suggest having anything else in the tank. They can get extremely aggressive while breeding. Small fish that can pack a big punch.
I pair could work in 6ft tank as long as you watch the aggression and don't let it get out of hand. Keeping more than 1 pair would need 400 + gallons. Even then it might not work. Mi-devils can be nice one day and a demon the next.
Got bad news, not adding anything to the tank this weekend. Woke up to a dead scooter blenny this morning. Checked my parameters and all are zero with 10 on my nitrates. Salinity is fine and he was eating good. I did quick exam of the body and did not find any signs of external disease or...
Do you think a kole or yellow tang would work in a 75 gallon?? This is another addition for the future and I havnt decided which I want. I have read many different opinions on minimum tank size for these fish. Also do you think one of those would work with my current stock plus the angel??
I should have said I am adding more fish. My cycle was complete on December 2 and on December 5 I added an oc clown and i got a free scooter blenny from a friend. I was worried I the blenny would be a picky eater but he loves brine shrimp so I got lucky. Its hard because I'm impatient but I wait...
I have spent the last month gathering supplies and doing as much research as i can and I think I am finaly ready to set up my tank. I am starting with a 75 gallon tank with a 30 gallon sump system. My return pump does 1200 gph. I also got a coralife 125 super skimmer (not the best but i couldn't...
I got 40lbs of the exact same sand new in the package off craigslist for cheap from somebody so im good to go on my substrate. Next purchase will be a protein skimmer. I am hoping to have this tank up and running by the end of next month.
I went out and traded for a return pump with a flow rate of 600 gph. So hopefully that will work just fine. Im not sure when i will start adding corals and get into reefing. My plans was to get the basics down first and have this tank running for at least a year. My next question is what would...
I have been keeping freshwater tanks for many years and now I am looking to find a new challenge in fishkeeping. Saltwater is something that I have always wanted to do and I am finally prepared to do it but I wish to take my time and do it right. I am going to start with a fish and live rock...
I have no clue if its a deep water hap not good with africans, but i agree it doesnt look like hlle or hith it looks like damage from hitting his head.
I went with baby brine shrimp. Thanx for everybody's help. I never planned on breeding angels it happened by accident. My angel tank busted a seal so I had to take my angels to a buddies house. A week later and I'm still trying to get a replacement tank and he calls me and says one of my angels...
