i took apart my 404 yesterday to clean it out.. upon putting it back together like i've always done, and hooking it all up, i turn it on and the motor starts clicking... it didnt stop clicking... i've tried multiple things, nothing has helped...

I have a 54 gal corner thank that i have keep African Cichlids in...its not RR or drilled in anyway...
i will be moving my cichlids into a 120 and though about setting up the 54 with SW and have it be my first SW tank.
I wanted to do LR and fish, not so much with Corals just yet as i heard...
sorry...no Live Rock...he has rock for decor...not Live Rock...he wants live rock and is probably getting 50-100lbs of it soon...

ok...updating on this...the crabs were not dying, in fact, they were only changing shells...they are all fine...every fish is fine...
feeding has been cut down to half and PWCs have been done every week in order to lower the Nitrates...all fish and inverts appear to be doing great...

i just put a small amount of vinegar on a 3"x3" space on the side glass...i had the tank sitting on its side so the vinegar sat RIGHT on this spot...let it sit for like 30 mins...went to rub it off...build up is STILL there...
i dont know what else to do...if this little test had actually...
i just acquired a 120gal non RR tank that was used for SW Coral. There is a whitish build up all over the glass that doesnt come off with a scraper...
previous owner told me to use vinegar to clean it but that hasnt done much either...
