    Babies!

Oh....I'm planning on setting up a tank for a puffer soon so i think that will take care of the overpopulation problem

    Babies!

This tank only "had" a male beta and snails in it, so the beta got fed 3 pellets a day. Moved the beta to another 10 gallon recently and haven't fed the "snail tank" since. I randomly put a slice of cucumber or leaf of kale in occasionally but only leave it in a day. I dunno, there is a lot...

    Babies!

Lol! I know shellyx! That was my way of trying to be funny about the situation! Unfortunately, I am going to have to abort some soon.....mamma laid another clutch last night! All those darn snails do is eat and reproduce!

    Babies!

I have found homes for most of the apple snails. Waiting on the blue Ramshorns a to hatch before I start looking for homes for them. Can you get snails neutered?

These guys (golden apple snails) are just hatched and about the size of a BB! Also have about 20 clutches of Blue Ramshorn snails!

    Eheim vs Fluval

My husband an I are wanting to get a small tank for shrimp. We have narrowed it down to the Eheim Aquastyle 9 and the Fluval. After reading reviews online it seems people have complaints about both tanks. We were just wondering in everyone's opinion if one really stood out over the other.

    KH and GH

Ok, I will continue using the spring water! Thanks for all the advice!! And yes, major lesson learned! Unfortunately I live in a pretty rural area and the closest LFS other than Petco is about an hour away, but worth the drive for healthy fish!!

    KH and GH

I have not tried letting it sit for 24 hours.......wonder if this would help with the salinity also?? Is there any way I could test the salinity?

    KH and GH

After, my water is orange and smells like rotten eggs and rusting metal before going through the softener/neutralizer.

    KH and GH

The safety and quality of life is my main concern aqua_chem! I just want to make sure that the 11 GH/KH in the water I am currently using is not going to be detrimental to the fish.

    KH and GH

My tap water is NOT municipal, it is well water and tests: pH - 8.8 GH - 6 KH - 9 Currently, we use water from a natural spring which tests: pH - 7.4 (Co2 lowers it to 7.0 in tank) KH -11 GH - 11

    KH and GH

So, deciding to use spring water instead of my tap water was he right decision? I am assuming the salinity is more hazardous than the high GH and KH? Thank you, so far, for the info guys!

    KH and GH

Well, so far I have lost a few of the tiger barbs to what I thought was columnaris, but not totally sure. They came from Petco and could not close their mouths. We noticed it right away and QT'd and treated them but lost 3 anyways. Unfortunately, our QT tank is taking a lot longer to cycle...

    KH and GH

Hello everyone! Being relatively new to the modern aquarium, I do not understand the relationship between KH and GH. I used the API test and got 11 for both. Is this too high? Also I cannot use my water at home b/c I have a water softener and acid neutralizer hooked up to the system d/t bad...

Question about CO2 Ceramic Diffuser: PLEASE HELP!

I haven't had that problem yet, but like I said I am new to the CO2 thing and am here to learn. I have been counting the bubbles in the glass tubing at 1-2 per second, does that not count as a visual representation?

Question about CO2 Ceramic Diffuser: PLEASE HELP!

Hello, I am relatively new to the CO2 thing, but I went with this set up because it is a bubble counter and diffuser in one. It eliminated the need for the extra bottle of water between rank and diffuser. I also use DIY CO2 and it takes mine about a full day to produce enough pressure to...

Hello fellow aquarium enthusiasts! My name is Beverly and I live in a small town in southwest Virginia called Wytheville. My husband and I have both had aquariums in the distant past and had been talking about resurrecting our passion, so in June we bought our fist set up together. Our tank...
