Rowdy Yellow Tang on New Blue Tang

Well. here's an update. The Yellow has eased up on Little Blue. In fact, his fin seems to have become normal again already. He is eating well and swimming the whole tank. They even swim side by side. I realize a 55 is debatable for tangs but I don't have or want as much live rock as most do and...

Rowdy Yellow Tang on New Blue Tang

I just got a small Blue Tang. Beautiful and healthy for now BUT my fairly small Yellow Tang is hammering him. He nips the Blue and tries to swat him with his tail. This is the 6th hour since adding the Blue. Is this normal? Will the yellow get mellow and finally accept my new Blue? He nipped a...

    clowns aneome

I bought a pair of very small ocilleris clowns at the same time as I know you must buy in pairs. Well, one died after one week but the other is healthy and strong. He's been doing great for the past two months. Can I add another one at this point or will they kill each other. Also, on the topic...

    Pre-Filter box attachment for AquaC

Thank you all for saving me $30 and some grief. I think the box is designed to add a sponge for bubble reduction. I just added a sponge to the return. Works pretty well.

    algae problem

I am new but I also had a nasty brown algae problem. If it continued, I probably would not stay with it. Our water here in Oregon is very pure and clean and was told by more than one LFS that Ro or distilled water was unnessesary. Well, my tank has now matured three months and it has...

    Remora bubbles driving me insane!

Same here. I notched a round sponge and it stays put on the outflow w/o rubberband. The bubbles are still there though and it bugs me because I know the tank would look even better without the bubbles that do escape. I have had mine running for two months. I also don't want the box. I read in...

    Feeding -- How much?

My yellow tang hardly leaves anything for his mates. He eats more like horse. Thanks for advice on clip w/ Nori. Tweetie will be happy!

    Skimmer producing bubbles!!!

I have a AquaC remora and had/have the same problem. I don't think mine is adjustable. After two months, it still gives off bubbles but I fit a sponge at the outflow and it pretty much took care of it.

starting my cycle with live rock?

I just used 30lb cured live rock, no shrimp. My 55 cycled in just over two weeks.

    Which Protein Skimmer - Bak-Pak 2 or Aqua C Remora ?

What kind of sponge should I use? Do they sell them at most LFS? I gotta try this. Loganj...How long did it take for the bubbles to go away for you?

    Remora Pro noise

I was about to get the pre-filter but I don't know now. I want ALL the bubbles gone. Did you use the sponge inside? Have you seen an improvement? My tank is a 55 and I would prefer to use it 24/7. I think I need to contact the manufacturer. Perhaps I have a dud. Most people rave about it.

    ? on Remora Pro

I am quite interested in this pre-filter box. It states that is for a "Mag-3". I don't know what that is. I have the AquaC Remora w/Maxi1200. Will it still work,i.e. Will the MJ1200 fit in it?

    Remora Pro noise

Good question. Can you use it intermittently? I don't like the noise and me and my fish hate the bubbles.

    Which Protein Skimmer - Bak-Pak 2 or Aqua C Remora ?

I have a Remora C and have been unhappy with it. It pours out billions of micro-bubbles. Suppose to be normal for first month but they won't go away on mine. They sell a $42 prefilter box to eliminate it so consider that with your cost for this unit.

    diatoms i think?

I was afraid mine would not go away. It was gone as fast as it arrived. It came in the last week of my cycle and was gone within two weeks afterwards...with the help of ten hermits. They love the stuff. 55g FOWLR.

    AquaC Remora question

This unit should have come with it. It's as if it was an afterthought. A must-have in my case(for the bubbles).

    Feeding Techniques

Other than my new clowns, I have 10 small hermits. They have taken care of all algae. What do I feed them? Pellets?

    Clown Advice

They are Ocilleris clowns. Not sure if tank raised and I meant to ask. I have a feeling they were. They are so small. I'll give them a call. As for the lamp, I just leave a lamp on at the other end of the living room for ten minutes, then completely dark. I don't have the fancy compacts with...

    Clown Advice

I have 40 lbs LR and some coral skeletons so they have good areas to hang out and sleep. I will accept any and all advice on feeding. I don't trust the LFS. There is another post regarding feeding. Do you turn of the filters and powerheads while feeding? The stuff flys everywhere but where the...

Do you shut down the powrheads also? I find the food just flys all around the place. BTW, I am very new at this.

That's a relief to hear. Thanks! I am still learning the patience part of this hobby. :)

    Clown Advice

I just put my first fishes in. Two little clowns. They were already tank-mates at the LFS. They seem healthy and very active and are never apart. I think they are eating. I feed them frozen brine shrimp everyother day. The brine flows all over and I haven't actually seen them go for it. Is this...

    AquaC Remora Bubbbles

I have had my Remora C for two weeks now and the bubbles won't go away. Is there something wrong or adjustments I could make? I want to shut the thing down sometimes. The instructions say they should go away in 1-2 weeks.

    AquaC Remora question

It was easy to set up but I have zillions of bubbles coming back into the tank. The instructions say it is normal for the first couple weeks. I am in my second week. I DO hope they go away.
