That's undoubtedly overstocked. Even if the filtration can handle all those fish which is quite impressive with all the waste manufactured and food needed, other problems are bound to arise. Territorial issues and space. There's not enough room for each fish to claim it's home in the aquarium...

40 breeders have great dimensions. I have a wp25 on my 5 ft tank and it's plenty so for a 40 gallon it should be most sufficient. Good luck on the stand. Let's see the progress when you're done!

Never heard this before. An anemone's diet consists of various types of meaty foods. Although not required because they also carry out photosynthesis, feeding doesn't have negative effects. They capture fish and shrimp in the wild, so I don't see how it can cause stress.

It was the finnex HMO heater w/ digital led controller. Somehow it was out of water and burned which is logical. For the most part it's a good heater. I've had accuracy problems with the finnex HMA w/ analog controller though.

Thank you :) trying out a new one (cobalt I think) since the finnex burned. This is actually a good heater for a seahorse tank since it's flat and thin so they cant wrap their tails around it.

Got a few new things and thought I'd make a little update. Seahorses are great, but temp is low at 68 so slowly raising it up.

Have an interesting light red macroalgae growing on my powerhead. Wanted to know if anyone has a clue what is b/c idk how it got there.

Fo sho, here's an update! Seahorses are eating well, but only when we pit food in their little "troughs" or shells. They'll wait by it when they're hungry..so cute. The female really blends in well with this leather! Also it seems that she's the queen and the monti is her throne :D

I did acclimate him to the tank for 1.5 hours. I "burped" it..so I thought. Maybe I didn't do it correctly. It seems to be a bit more open today. Thanks for the link.

Oh that would make sense. 6 60" T5s. I'll recheck my parameters. I have a smaller maxima clam and another species clam that are doing well so I'm confused why this one isn't doing so great.

Bought a huge clam a few days ago and it's not as open as it was before. Is it okay to move it 4" up to a rock for more light? New to keeping clams so any advice would be great. My parameters are ideal so I'm guessing it needs higher lighting or a place to attach?

The seahorses eat frozen mysis so I wouldn't see it a problem. I've seen the mandarin eat a couple pieces of mysis when he can but he eats nutramar mostly or Copepods. I don't see there being a competition for food since they aren't exactly eating the same things right now. My mom transferred...

Seahorses are in the main tank. Still shy and not eating much though :/ Transferred the mandarin over to this tank. Also, some macroalgae is turning a bright orange. Is it dying? Even if it is, it looks awesome!
