Going to wash filter casing and heater in hot water. Will washing gravel in hot water kill off any remaining snail eggs or should I get fresh?

Please could someone tell me what this might be? This was my small heated tank that had guppy fry in it. Turned things off about a week ago (due to snail infestation) but have been I'll so not cleaned it out. I really do not want to put my hand in with this. Yuk!

I do run 2 filters otherwise it's a nightmare to keep up with water changes

Thanks : ) I have 3 probably mixed breed goldfish, but they have gone through several colour changes and a rapid increase in size so think they need a bigger tank or pond in the new year. It's the small one I'm not sure what to do with. Would like a beta. Think I'm probably gonna clean it...
