i brightened the picture...hope this helps

i was told the tang was a miniature and would be fine in a smaller tank. the tank has been up and running for about 3 months now, and with the exception of a couple evil hermit crabs, all has been going relatively well. i would love to have a larger tank, but space and money make it bad timing...

ok i read the other post about the little white dots, i was gonna ask about them. will my sandsifter starfish eat those things, i think he does. he sure doesnt sift anymore, he used to hide under the sand all the time, but now he never goes under anymore. is that a bad thing? should i do...

ok so we got the 16 gallon sw tank together, put the ls in and 3 lbs of lace rock in the hob filter. 5 days later we put in the 15 lb chuck of cured lr and within 6 hours the tank was really really clear. 2 days later we put in one emerald crab, one hermit crab, and one sandsifting starfish...

oh this is in ohio, if that makes a difference. how would i be able to tell the quality?

is 7 dollars a pound a good price for live rock? thats how much the local aquatic shop wants and i wanted to know if that was reasonable.

yeah see im lucky to have a real small aquarium shop here where the guy is really cool. he knows a ton and he doesnt just want to sell me stuff, he's helped alot. so at least i dont have to deal with big chain store morons.

if i was going to start a new sw tank, would just sand i retrieved from the beach in north carolina be ok for a substrate? i understand with no undergravel filter you should have less than 1 inch of substrate is that true? or should it be less to make certain i dont get any anerobic bacteria...
