Look up DIY PVC overflow on YouTube. They do work.

    New set up

The only dumb question is the one not asked, a sw tank is easy to take care of once you know how to get your parameters in control. Just take you time, nothing good happens fast in this hobby, just be patent and keep an eye on everything for the first few months, after you get the bacteria all...

    New set up

I wouldn't add the salt into the aquarium, people have got away with it but it is hard to mix. The way that works best for me is put a small heater in a clean 5 gallon bucket with a strong power head. I let the solution run for a hour to make sure that it is at the correct temp and salinity...

    Protien skimmer for nano

Ya the aquaclear 110 has a large body for a fuge and takes just a couple modifications to make it work. Cpr makes one that would work a lot better, but they do cost more, the largest one holds about 5 gallons from what I understand. I am building a nano reef out of a 20H right now, but I'm...

My water in my reef is turning a cloudy green does anyone know why

Ya they will do that, I used to turn it on for 1-2 hours a week just to "polish" the water

    Digitate Hydroid

What are they, I haven't heard of them

Sick fish due to sick anemone?

May also look and see if you have a surface film, this can really mess up the oxygen levels, especially if it is a 150 tall, very little service to volume ratio

20 long nano reef (sw newbie)

That would be more then enough, I would probably go with the 3/4 cpr continuous siphon, it's in dr foster and smith catalog and flows 300 gph, the smallest inch is 600 gph. Obviously you can regulate them, but I think a 500 gph return would be too strong for your tank

20 long nano reef (sw newbie)

Or do you think the I could flow water past it, I will have a 6" channel that it will sit in, water needs to run around it

20 long nano reef (sw newbie)

Good to know, that is the one I was looking at and the dimensions listed are smaller, so it won't work for me unfortunately.......they are really good skimmers, seems like everyone loves them

My water in my reef is turning a cloudy green does anyone know why

A uv sterilizer would help too, but it kills anything that floats threw it

    Slow death of LPS corals

I am interested to see this, I have no idea on the cause, but I had a hammer do the same thing. Hope to hear an answer.

    28g Nano Cube Newbie

If it is bubble algae it is bad, depending on what is in your tank you can take a couple of routs. My first choice would be to remove the infected rock and kill off the rock, if that's not an option then next would be an emerald crab, they are supposed to eat it but mine never did :-/ And the...

    Need help!

I would leave the shimp in for a few days to make sure u have ample ammonia to build up bacteria. And don't change the water until the cycle is done, just top it of with rodi water to keep the salinity correct.

    Is my molly pregnant?

No not really, when her belly starts to get dark, usually u can see the eyes, she is 3-5 days away

What next? New 75 gallon Tank

Don't add any more fish, you will need more rock, 1-2 lbs per gallon, I would wait at least a month before you put another fish in, a couple hermit crabs can be put in after 2-3 weeks I would say. With the fish in there the ammonia will come, keep an eye on it though, may have to do some partial...

about to give up on my 24 aquapod

A uv sterilizer would help, kills anything that flows threw it, and make sure all the food is being ate

    Dirty sump?

Some maybe beneficial, but not that much, need to get rid of the bio balls and go to a fuge instead

    Bubbles on sand bed

I would think all the bubbles would be out by now, I have no clue but interested to find out

Just set up a 50 gallon tank.

I would go with guppies, and only 3-5 of them to start, I don't like using fish to cycle but people do it every day. Guppies are about the most variant in colors and patterns, there are literally hundreds to chose from and every fish store will have a couple different ones.

Moving tanks and LOTS of fish.

I dont think so, I bring them home form the pet store in bags and that's 45 minutes form my house, and they are shipped in bags for days to the pet store, I used them because I didn't want to chance it with how much I had invested in stock, but if I was to do it over again and had to buy the air...

    Bubbles on sand bed

How long has the tank been set up and did you use dry sand? I have never seen or heard of this happening and my only guess is that there was air in the said that is slowly seeping out
