There is small patches of algae building again, I'm not worried now. I'm going to hit then with the tooth brush and keep the tank clean. The clown are doing great. Nothing had changed with them. Begging for food when i got home, like usual.

Alright cool. Other than cleaning the glass and water changes i have made zero changes to the tank. I'll let you know how the grass and shrooms look today. I hope they were just scared because i was cleaning the tank :-)

Ok, so i took out my bio media bag and my grass and mushrooms are not looking so great... Coincidence? Tank is two years old and fairly established. What exactly is the bio media bag for? Is it an absolute necessity? I'll give it a couple of days and see if it comes around.

Thank you. Yeah, I can say, even though I did not mind the green hair algae flowing on the back wall... I do like it a lot better without it. I will keep the filters nice and clean for the next few days until they do not build up algae quickly. Over-all, toothbrush method for...

    29G Nano-Cube Newbie

I made a quick video of my tank after the second cleaning of green hairy algae. I do not have a fish net to catch the floating algae. I will continue to stay on top of the algae until it has been contained for the most part. Another thing I did to collect algae is: the center sponge filter, I...

    Some kind of worm??

I do not know the name either but I have them in my tank. Sometimes I see them coming out from the rock and picking up sand. It is a worm of some sort.

    Coral for clownfish

My clown fish live in the cabbage coral and the green brain. They both got a bad deal living in my tank... no anemone, even though I would like to have one but I have too much coral.

I cleaned out my green hair algae yesterday! I will say, I was not sad to see it go. I used the toothbrush method and it went very well. I started by pre-cleaning all of my sponge filters and I removed my bio media. Then I scraped the whole back wall and it came off very easily. The problem I...

If you look at my frog spawn closely, I have a feather duster growing on it. I have never purchased a feather duster before. My question is, is it ok to allow the feather duster to live on the frog spawn or should I remove it? If I should remove it, what is the best method of doing that?

I am going to start removing the algae. I checked the filtration area yesterday, there is all kinds of "goodies" back there. I think i am going with the toothbrush method to try and reduce the amount of green hair algae. I'll post some pictures after my first cleaning.

    mushroom corals

I have never seen this done but would have done this! I have had that happen to me before as well. Tried glue/epoxy but because of the slimy shrooms, that did not work. I ended up letting them float around and adhere to whatever they wanted, which worked. The problem with this method is some...

My wife loves these little guys. They grow at a decent rate. When they get as big as my thumb nail I give them to a friend that is starting a tank. He likes them more than me. :)
