I have a leporinus with my Texas,pike,Ebjd and fire mouth and he's growing quick and doing good. They nip at find of slower fish but I haven't had any problems really besides him an my Ebjd don't get along. Leporinus are very active and entertaining so I would say u could do one with an Oscar...

I would go with the Ebjd and some other smaller fish unless you can't live without the Oscar. Each to their own. My Ebjd is very territorial and he is only barely 4" and the other fish are 6" or larger. Very entertaining and cool looking

Yea exactly. Every fish is different and has its own personality your Oscar could b the nicest fish eventho hey have a bad reputation. My Texas and pike cichlids are friendly as can b and are inseparable. It all depends on the fish

I think people go crazy with having only one or two fish in a large aquarium like yours. I have more than that in a 55 that are large fish an they are fine just keep up with water changes and cleaning and watch for issues between fish if one is too aggressive u might want to move it and maybe...

Yea mine has nipped every fish so I'm not very fond of him besides as you said he is very active and is constantly searching for food. I got mine fro petsmart as well I don't think they care for them that great if ours literally explode in size so quick lol

My Texas likes to stop fights between other fish and decorate the tank he will pick up this one small piece of coral and move it around and even stand it upright lol he's so entertaining

$17 is a steal mine was $40 they are just more common where you are from I guess lol. I would have bought a bunch at that price

I'm with ya on wanting an end they are so Kool looking especially as juveniles I got mine at 2 inches and had him with fish over twice his size and he would b the aggressor. Their frailty depends on the genetics you have go get lucky or find someone who is a recommended breeder

Does anyone else have one of these? I got mine a month ago an he was 2 inches long and scrawny and now he's 6 inches and fat. Is it normal for them to grow this fast or am I just doing everything right? I'm kinda new to this so seeing an improvement like this excites me

Thanks everyone this is great. I had considered fire mouths I thought they would b an issue but I might go with them. I have convicts in my other tank I'm not a fan of them and mine are breeding already. I wanted another larger one but I'm open to anything. I might get rid of the leporinus cuz...
