    New anemone(S)! Good or Bad?

Update- I removed my three Majanos last night after reading up on them. I just used tweezers and tugged them off by their base. One broke apart, but I finally got a good grip on the stump and it came off cleanly. We'll see if they grow back.

    New anemone(S)! Good or Bad?

I have the same exact thing (green one) that came in on a star polyp rock. It's EXTREMELY durable, and has split into 2 new animals over the last month. I'm pretty sure it is an anemone, because they do uproot and change locations on the rock, to get as close to the light and water flow as...

    Dimwitted Clownfish and jealous Frontosa

Even after giving my Percula several months with both a sebae and a condi anemone, he just wasnt interested. Somehow this clown did not get the memo on hosting anemones. :| - Empty nest Finally I guess instinct kicked in. Unfortunately he's tank raised, so he must have missed out on...

    Red flake algae growth?

This red stuff is growing off a single rock, nowhere else in the tank. Fairly brittle, and it's growing about 1mm a week. What is it? Thanks!

    Conch actually eats cyano

Well despite my extreme skepicism, the aquacultured queen conch we got yesterday is happily munching on Cyanobacteria (red slime). Sorry for the bad pictures, my camera sucks. Oh, and they crawl up the glass too, despite what I read online.

It's Playsand season. Shout out when you find some!

If you live more than 100 miles from Florida, you probably will not see this sand in your local market. According to an article on Marcona Ocean Industries: "The maximum transport distance for [aragonite sand] to be competitive with traditional onshore sources [silica sand] is about 150 km...

    45lb fiji just arrived, pics...

Does that heater work for you at all? I try to use the same one on my QT and it fluctuates soooo badly. Plus its hard to keep it set at the right temp, one nudge and its off by 5 degrees. :?

    DIY moonlights for saltwater tanks

Sorry for reviving an old post but I wanted to post pics of my moonlight setup. CCFL LED CCFL LED I agree that the Blue CCFL (light blue/teal in photos) is definitely not suitable for moonlighting but I'm going to just leave it up there on a switch so I don't have to turn on the VHO's and...

Where to buy Cirratulinid or Terebellid worms?

Awesome, they have em. http://ipsf.com/#anchor37692 $20 for 6 captive bred worms, and they reproduce in the tank. It's just the $32 shipping charge that kills it. Time to ask the g/f if she wants to spend $9 a meal on this guy.

    RO/DI Top off water

Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe not only does the Reverse Osmosis process remove Chlorine and Chloramine, but it also aerates the water really well. PH and Temperature are the only things I adjust, and even then only if the tank is already stressed for some reason. Otherwise I just dump...

Where to buy Cirratulinid or Terebellid worms?

My g/f got another animal without researching it, on the advice of our LFS that tends to place sales over survival. :? They claimed this beautiful snail would sift through the sand and eat algae. http://hiplog.com/hiplog/images/tmail.com/f7/b4/plurdawg/2005/02/15/101539/1_Photo_176.jpg...
